A friend or coworker asks you to recommend them for a job, but you aren't comfortable recommending them professionally. What do you do?

Write something vague that doesn't really praise them too much.

Tell them you have a policy to not recommend anyone.

Do it anyway, even though you think they are a less than adequate worker.
