I agree we should not let our tax dollars pay for abortions, however they have to get out of the lives of the women that want to have abortions. Who are we to get between the women and her Doc. and her God. You have to let people make their own choices, you don't have to agree with them, but just let them make their own choices. Sorry people, but this is all rediculous. The thing that is holding the airlines back from flying is not the ash cloud, #1 is the government agents (FAA) and the #2 is that to avoid the Plume of ash they have to fly thousands of miles out around it which would mean a loss to the companies. What are we going to do if it keeps up as long as it did in the 1800's. My Grand-daughter and great grandson is coming from Germany, should have been today, but their flght was canceled even though they lifted the ban on flying. The airline didn't say it, but it is because they have such a backlog of people to move before they can even get to the ones that had reservations after the ban was lifted. I told her that maybe she needed to check in on getting a ticket for a cruise liner to the states. I don't understand people that think that the only way to travel is by air. If your going to be stuck in a place for 10 days why not on a cruise line that will get you where you want to go in that amount of time. What happened to people that can think outside of the box. If one thing doesn't work don't just quit try another way. Why are there so many people that are like lambs lead to slaughter. they tell you that you can't fly OK so I take a cruise, no big deal.

I hated flying before... won't do it now... unless I absolutely positively can't get out of it.
I think most people are very wary of flying under the conditions of Ash being spewed into the atmosphere. It gets all over the windshields and into the engines, and could cause a major disaster in the air, as well as affecting people's breathing.... I think people are going to have to be patient, and wait for this volcano to subside.....This will no doubt hurt the airlines, and safety should come first. Its not worth it to risk lives, everyone needs to find hobbies and other interests in their local areas, or in the US.

I grew up in Western Montana when Mount Saint Helens erupted. We had 6 inches of ash on the ground for 2 weeks and were under a state of emergency. Only necessary activities were advised, using a respirator. Our milk truck that picked up the milk from the dairy next door would send clouds high in the air, when it would go by. I was told that they had to change out the air filter on the truck 3 times per day. It was like living on the moon. We were told that breathing the ash would be like inhaling fine splinters of glass. We were not taken off alert until it rained and washed it away.
I have lung problems now, I don't know if it has anything to do with that.

Do people actually believe that the airlines would send it's pilots, crew and passengers knowing that the engines would fail because of the ash? Come on! There would be billions in law suits; enough to put them out of business.

If we all worried about our travels, and daily things we wish to do being dangerous or scary, we would sit at home hoping the walls do not collapse. Get a life. We will never know when our time comes, so enjoy life to the fullest. Follow you dreams of travel, and whatever you wish. Let life make you happy, not afraid.
