A big focus of a project on Sound Money should be on having the States return to adherence to Article 1, Section 10 of the U.S. Constitution, which declares that they aren't allowed to use ANYthing but gold or silver coins as tender in payment of debt. If States obeyed this, there would be competition with Federal Reserve Notes, and FRNs (and the Federal Reserve) would fade away into the sunset...
As much as I love the gold standard, I must say that forcing it on people is the wrong way to go. If it emerges naturally through the market process, then so be it. I have faith that it will. But we must remember not to be heavy handed with our believes regarding money, just as we would ask others to not be heavy handed. Free banking is the way to go. Let the market decide. People that want to force a gold standard on everyone are overstepping their bounds.
