I would be extremely helpful because I have been assigned summer reading for honors english; I do not plan on rereading the book after the assignment is finished and I really don't want to buy the book. Also it would be awesome to be able to check out regular fun reads because there is a great selection here of books I am more likely to read rather than the public library!

would it be helpful to set a regular time when we'll be open? like fridays from 9-noon or mondays from 2-4. one day a week for a few hours would be do-able for us. which day and which times would be best for you?

steph, i'm seriously thinking about checking out books this summer, for the reasons you mentioned (money, mental stagnation) and one more: location, location, location! casa is not close to our public library. for students who don't drive and whose parents work, getting there during the day would take almost an hour one way by bus. and it's only 3 miles from school! students who live on the east side of town need better access to reading materials over the summer, and if the big house library can help with that, we'll be happy to.

i would love it if we could check out books for the summer!!!!!!!! that would totally be amazing because some people can't buy books that they want to read. but... that would all change when people could actually check out books for the summer. for reasons like, it gives them something to do and its free which is even better. but also, it gives us a reason to say that we were learning and actually reading in the summer. its even better than sitting on the couch and being a couch potato. so let their be books to check out over the summer.
