In direct relation to our piece “Back to the Beach”, we present to our readers the beach poll:

The laws of public drinking should be strictly enforced and the State Police should take appropriate action even if it means loss of beach-goers. Good riddance who needs them!
M Street Beach is the summer hot-spot and we as a community should do everything to ensure it stays that way
Hey, leave us beach-goers alone! We respect the community and its laws.
The “Fun Police” should get a life and leave well enough alone
I think the activity at M Street Beach is great – but beach rules should be enforced more.
I avoid all beaches on the weekends in South Boston

I avoid the beaches on weekends. Too many people. That's not a bad thing, I just like quiet. The matter of public drinking is an important one. Let's face it, do we really want St. Patty's Day every summer weekend? Given the sun, time and the amount of booze consumed, these knuckleheads will begin to think they're on school break at Daytona! Drink at home or one of the bars. Give us a break.
