I agree with Lizzy. We entered this contest for fun. I personally entered because all I want to do is sing. I'm sure she can relate. I don't think we figured this would get ugly. Mrs. Stone it is unfortunate that you are teaching your child to be a sore loser. These kids are both wanting this and I have listened and both of them would be great competitors. This is also a huge opportunity for Lizzy, and a chance for somethining big to happen. she also goes to school with me. We live in a small town, where there are also not very many opportunites. She sang the national anthem in front of 4,000 people today (which she rocked), and that has been the biggest gig ever. that's because it was a local baseball game. So understand that this means a lot to her, and it seems like it means a lot to you.

Kaitlyn definitely deserves this. She has worked hard over the years. This is a huge opportunity for her, whereas Lizzy sees it as just another performance. Living in a small town doesn't offer as many events and performances, so Kaitlyn deserves this one.

If the contest didn't rely on votes why would it be a poll? Clearly the voting matters. And I know that nobody could accomplish 23,000 votes by sitting and voting for herself. Also, if Lizzy is so accustomed to singing in front of 4,000 people, maybe she's better suited for another contest, because she clearly has already experienced this. (:
I hope this contest will be judged on ability and not just how much time a person can sit and vote for themselves. Lizzy Stone has been out there doing. She is currently in 2-4 daily rehersals for a community musical opening June11(not just a choral singer, she has solo parts and lines). She sings publically every week - two performances this Sunday (including a 4,000 seat venue). She is the only freshman in her school to have participated in IMEA, IHSA, and the Spring musical(as a freshman with solo lines). As a freshman, she was recently inducted into the National Music Honor Society as a level 2.
