I remember when, in the 70s, a co-worker of my dad was going out of town and brought his 19" color TV set over to our house (there were lots of petty home burglaries). My family had never seen a color TV set. I was soooo excited. I watched it that entire week, and was sad to see it go. But, shortly after we got our own. A family with a color TV set in that day was cool.
My Dad was really good about keeping up with TV stuff -- we had a color TV long before a lot of our neighbors, and I inherited various old living room TVs for my room when I was just a little kid. No wonder I grew up watching and loving TV so much! I guess I'd have to directly thank my dad for encouraging my consumption of TV with the color set. I definitely remember Disney and Bonanza especially, and "Sing Along with Mitch" in color.
