My job is literally making me sick. The leadership of the 21st century in Corporate America lacks the skills to lead, communicate, motivate embrace change, accept diversity and most of all celebrate. Racism, sexism, ageism, narcissism are prevalent and blatantly executed. As an African American professional I am fed up to the point of panic attacks, stress, sleepless nights and irritability. There is no work life balance and there is no regard for employee’s personal situations. The glass is constantly half empty, never seen as half full. As educated black women, we are intimidating because of our talent creativity and inner beauty, which we exude unconsciously. The tactics used to demean and destroy are and will continue to be the demise these large Corporations. Do they not realize employees are also customers? Do they realize we are educated and most like looking for another job or starting our own businesses pursuing our God given talent. Do they not realize that people will no longer be abused and will leave regardless of the economic situation at hand, we do have options and we can and will make choices. Retention is based on happy employees treated fairly and respected. Turnover will continue to be high and market share will continue to decrease because we will take our business elsewhere as well as we will find a more fulfilling way to make money. If you are as sick mentally and physically as I am find your talent and pursue it. I am a writer and speaker and I have claimed it!
