Twilight can be compared to Harry Potter. And Harry Potter is simply better. Stephanie clearly write the series while she was ten because I have seen fanfictions better than the actual series. Harry Potter isn't necessarily a masterpiece, it's just that Twilight (the books and movies) are horrible. Bad writing, bad acting, bad everything. The HP actors are still more skillful than the Twilight ones even if you compare the first movies (considering that some of the HP actors are what, 12, 13, 11 something? when acting.)
Meanwhile, the trailer was much more epic than Twilight's.... it was quite dull and boring.

Já li Crepúsculo, vi os filmes.. e até gostei. Já li Harry Potter (milhares de vezes), já vi os filmes (outras milhares) e não há como comparar um ao outro. Harry Potter é uma história fascinante, sem explicação! Crepúsculo é aquele romancezinho pra se ler quando não há nada a se fazer, ou se está carente.
O que acontece é como várias pessoas já comentaram: Crepúsculo é moda, é o que a mídia chama a atenção no momento. Harry Potter é eterno! Tanto que HP tem um parque temático... sem mais comparações!

HPDH all the way. Liam, Mandi actually didn't say which kiss and I assumed she referred to the Ron/Hermione, as we have already seen Harry & Ginny kiss anyway in HBP. As others have said, the HP kids were only 10/11 at first and way inexperienced compared with the Twilight people. I read the first Twilight novel but found it deathly dull apart from the last bit where something actually happened, whereas HP (books & films) are always exciting and interesting. Every generation in my famiily loves HP and have since the books from the mid 90s and from the first film which is almost 10 years ago. To be so popular globally still is awesome.

Eu ja li todos os livros da saga de Crepúsculo, e acho eles legais, mas o filme estraga. A imagem de Crepúsculo é azul man, Avatar pode ser azul, Harry Potter pode ser azul, mas a imagem de Crepúsculo é um lixo. Lua Nova ainda ficou melhorzin, e Eclipse parece que vai ser melhor que os dois juntos. Mas pode juntar todos os filmes que não fica melhor que 1 de Harry Potter. A melhor saga do mundo é HP. Oh and by the way, Mandi, as regards your Pros for Deathly Hallows list in the article? That featured kiss between Harry & Ginnie in the trailer will almost certainly NOT be the runner up in the Best Kiss category next year. I cannot believe that that particular spot will belong to anything except the as yet unfeatured but *incredibly* antiicipated Ron & Hermione lip lockage. Unless of course you mean Harry & Ginnie will finish behind Ron & Hermione? ;-) After years of build up, and some serious chemistry, I'm afraid that long awaited snog would have to be a total wet blanket for R&H not to beat out the nice but bland H&G. No doubt though that kiss will fnish second behind Edward & Bella thanks to the ever avidly voting Twilight fans.

No comparison at all. Crazy to even ask. Deathly Hallows all the way. The tension, foreboding and sense of things starting to fall apart was pitch perfect. That one short snippet of argument between Ron and Harry knocked spots, drama wise, off absolutely everything Eclipse tried to ratchet up, and then of course there was the acting. Oh the acting.
Leigha Brandt...while you are of course correct that the Harry Potter kids weren't 'fantastic' in the first films, keep in mind they were 10 and 11 years old at the time, compared to the ages of the Twilight crew in their first outing. The Twilight trio were considerably more mature, and had plenty of acting roles under their belts before they took on these roles for the first time, therefore you would reasonably expect them to have been of a higher level to begin with...and after a couple of outings they still aren't very good. To be fair though the Twilight actors are hampered by poor, stilted, cliched material and dialogue which leaves them looking po faced and wooden.
Twilight has done phenomenally well for what it is, a series that has erased a classic mythos to recreate it to appeal primarily and prettily to one age group, and one which is very much of the here and now. Twilight will be featured on nostalgia programmes looking back at what we were all crazy about 10 years ago...Harry Potter has already crossed generations in terms of appeal, attained 'Classic' status and will, much like Star Wars, or perhaps more aptly the Chronicles of Narnia and The Hobbit, appeal to children and adults for years and years to come.

Não só o trailer de Harry Potter foi melhor que o de Crepúsculo... os filmes e os livros também são infinitamente melhores. Achei uma enorme injustiça a Emma Watson ter perdido para a Kristen...se ainda fosse para a Sandra Bullock, seria totalmente compreensivel, mas perder para a Kristen? Realmente não dá!

Whoever is comparing acting between the films, you have to sort your pros and cons first. You have to realize that the HP franchise has been going on a lot longer than the Twilight films, so it’s a given that the acting would be more advanced. I remember the first Potter film and how “fantastic” the acting was.
With every film, the acting advances and the actors evolve and learn more. On that note, you might as well be living under a rock if you say nobody likes vampires, because they are one of the most popular things right now, from t.v shows to movies. Say what you will, Twilight brought vampires back to life.
Back to the whole “sparkly” thing… nobody every set a law, that vampires have to kill and burn in sunlight, it’s just a tale that has been passed down, and that we’ve come to know and accept/expect… when you write a novel, there are no boundaries, and Stephenie made up her own rules for a vampire.
She erased the stereotypical vampire and created something we’ve never seen before. As an author you explore boundaries and cross them, fortunately for most of us, we can expierence what she created. It doesn’t mean the other generations of vampires don’t exist, it’s just that the created her own and as far as I can tell (other than this chat room) they’ve mostly been accepted.
Twilight and Potter are two different things. Magic and Love bad comparison. Of course cinematography is more advanced, Potter franchise has earned the money to do more. Twilight still has two more films, as far as i know, it’s not going away for a long time. It is a proven fact, whether you like Twilight or not, and although True Blood was made first, more people started watching after Twilight. Also HBO has been advertising True Bloo in EVERY Twilight mag, knowing millions of people read it. If you don’t like Twilight, that’s great don’t bitch and whine about every little thing you hate… it’s not worth typing out.

Ai só foi ele aparecer como uma vampiro em Twilight, que todos se facinaram com ele, eu acho que isso não é ser fã. HPDH all the way. Liam, Mandi actually didn't say which kiss and I assumed she referred to the Ron/Hermione, as we have already seen Harry & Ginny kiss anyway in HBP. As others have said, the HP kids were only 10/11 at first and way inexperienced compared with the Twilight people. I read the first Twilight novel but found it deathly dull apart from the last bit where something actually happened, whereas HP (books & films) are always exciting and interesting. Every generation in my famiily loves HP and have since the books from the mid 90s and from the first film which is almost 10 years ago. To be so popular globally still is awesome.

That featured kiss between Harry & Ginnie in the trailer will almost certainly NOT be the runner up in the Best Kiss category next year. I cannot believe that that particular spot will belong to anything except the as yet unfeatured but *incredibly* antiicipated Ron & Hermione lip lockage. Unless of course you mean Harry & Ginnie will finish behind Ron & Hermione? ;-) After years of build up, and some serious chemistry, I'm afraid that long awaited snog would have to be a total wet blanket for R&H not to beat out the nice but bland H&G. No doubt though that kiss will fnish second behind Edward & Bella thanks to the ever avidly voting Twilight fans.
No comparison at all. Crazy to even ask. Deathly Hallows all the way. The tension, foreboding and sense of things starting to fall apart was pitch perfect. That one short snippet of argument between Ron and Harry knocked spots, drama wise, off absolutely everything Eclipse tried to ratchet up, and then of course there was the acting. Oh the acting.
Leigha Brandt...while you are of course correct that the Harry Potter kids weren't 'fantastic' in the first films, keep in mind they were 10 and 11 years old at the time, compared to the ages of the Twilight crew in their first outing. The Twilight trio were considerably more mature, and had plenty of acting roles under their belts before they took on these roles for the first time, therefore you would reasonably expect them to have been of a higher level to begin with...and after a couple of outings they still aren't very good. To be fair though the Twilight actors are hampered by poor, stilted, cliched material and dialogue which leaves them looking po faced and wooden.
Twilight has done phenomenally well for what it is, a series that has erased a classic mythos to recreate it to appeal primarily and prettily to one age group, and one which is very much of the here and now. Twilight will be featured on nostalgia programmes looking back at what we were all crazy about 10 years ago...Harry Potter has already crossed generations in terms of appeal, attained 'Classic' status and will, much like Star Wars, or perhaps more aptly the Chronicles of Narnia and The Hobbit, appeal to children and adults for years and years to come.

Não só o trailer de Harry Potter foi melhor que o de Crepúsculo... os filmes e os livros também são infinitamente melhores. Achei uma enorme injustiça a Emma Watson ter perdido para a Kristen...se ainda fosse para a Sandra Bullock, seria totalmente compreensivel, mas perder para a Kristen? Realmente não dá!

Whoever is comparing acting between the films, you have to sort your pros and cons first. You have to realize that the HP franchise has been going on a lot longer than the Twilight films, so it’s a given that the acting would be more advanced. I remember the first Potter film and how “fantastic” the acting was.
With every film, the acting advances and the actors evolve and learn more. On that note, you might as well be living under a rock if you say nobody likes vampires, because they are one of the most popular things right now, from t.v shows to movies. Say what you will, Twilight brought vampires back to life.
Back to the whole “sparkly” thing… nobody every set a law, that vampires have to kill and burn in sunlight, it’s just a tale that has been passed down, and that we’ve come to know and accept/expect… when you write a novel, there are no boundaries, and Stephenie made up her own rules for a vampire.
She erased the stereotypical vampire and created something we’ve never seen before. As an author you explore boundaries and cross them, fortunately for most of us, we can expierence what she created. It doesn’t mean the other generations of vampires don’t exist, it’s just that the created her own and as far as I can tell (other than this chat room) they’ve mostly been accepted.
Twilight and Potter are two different things. Magic and Love bad comparison. Of course cinematography is more advanced, Potter franchise has earned the money to do more. Twilight still has two more films, as far as i know, it’s not going away for a long time. It is a proven fact, whether you like Twilight or not, and although True Blood was made first, more people started watching after Twilight. Also HBO has been advertising True Bloo in EVERY Twilight mag, knowing millions of people read it. If you don’t like Twilight, that’s great don’t bitch and whine about every little thing you hate… it’s not worth typing out.
