I have been following the CD-1 race and have noted that Zaleski has not attended many of the forums where the candidates have been. How long has he been listed as a voter in CD-1? No voting record here either.
Andrew - 2 years ago
We support Rusty Bowers. He's a man of his word. A unique man with a big heart and a willingness to serve.
John Robert Smith - 2 years ago
I have been following Tom Zaleski in the CD1 race. He is an economist by profession and understands what's going on and what it will take to fix the economy. He was also amazingly in the know about the security of the country. In fact, he had great ideas that I haven't heard from the other candidates, including constitutional info that have never been mentioned by Beauchamp or the other guys.. I've heard Beauchamp claim he was a constitutional scholar, but got stumped at the Sedona Tea Party rally when asked a question. Obama cliamed to be a constituional authority too and look where thats gotten us. He has no plan together that addresses anything. Just that he knows the Constitution? Can't support Gosar, as he has no ideas that aren't already out there. He does know medicine though, but has no ideas on reforming the system. Heard Bowers and the others - not impressed. Same old stuff trying to get elected. Zaleski is the only one I've geard who actually has said what he will do and how. We need to listen to this guy. He's got my vote. John
I dont know how to thank you enough for this poll COOL COOL COOL

Are there any non-attorney's running? It seems to me that most of the problems we face today are complicated even more because attorney's are running the show. I think we need more business people who understand economics and capitalism.
Bradley Beauchamp is married to one true love - himself. All else is but a means to an end.
David Stringer - 2 years ago
Rusty Bowers is the most qualified candidate to represent CD1, hands down. He is the only candidate with legislative experience and a proven track record as a champion of conservative principles. He is a man of enormous integrity. He is not running for Congress to start a political career or because he needs a job. He is a citizen politician in the best and most honorable sense of the term. He was raised in the Prescott/Chino valley area and he understands our issues and our culture. His family goes back four generations. He is one of us. He will protect our traditions, our families, our economy and our border. There are other good men running, but Rusty Bowers is the best. I am supporting him with all my might.
Well folks I've done it I made a new poll to record accurate information. I won't close my poll if my candidate falls behind. What happened for this poll is Rusty's people made it and only they new about it at first, but when Bradley's people started hearing about he started gaining on Rusty so they closed it down. I will not do that, because I want accurate information. You can find it on facebook at: http://poll.fm/f/2082s or go to this URL http://polldaddy.com/polls/results.php?id=3369700

-To all you people who support Bowers and say he is a constitutionalist,
WRONG! Anyone can carry a pocket constitution and buck up on it before a debate, but it takes a real constitutional conservative to go to a debate and articulate what the constitution says and why its important. Bradley Beauchamp is that man. I believe that Bradley can do what it takes to get our country back!
P.S. If nothing at all at least Bradley knows the difference between the 16th and19th amendments.
Gwen Sick district 1 - 2 years ago
Does Bill Bradley live in district 1? Probably not!!!
We recognize that there were many experienced candidates in this race. We tried to focus on all viable candidates. Candidates with a low number of signatures may not have been included in the poll. A Full listing of candidates can be seen here: http://www.azsos.gov/election/2010/Primary/FullListing.htm
I want to be VERY clear, these CD polls do not decide solely who we support. The candidate with the highest percentage may not be the candidate that we decide to support. This is not a guaranteed endorsement. We are simply getting the conversation going as we would like to see where our decision lies in comparison to those that voted in the poll. At the end of the day we are going to make our endorsement based on our panels recommendations and our PAC endorsement guidelines.
In making endorsement decisions, the PAC is well aware that its choices may not be popular with everyone. However, popularity is neither an issue nor a mandated result; rather, endorsements are made based on criteria established by the PAC, and our guiding principles are very simple - Less government, less regulation and lower taxes.
We support candidates who place liberty (the Constitution) first when casting a vote or making critical political decisions. Not special interests, not populist issues, but LIBERTY FIRST.
We will be making our endorsements for the CD races very soon.

Thomas Zaleski is absolutely the way to go and yet he's not on the poll?!?!?!! What moron created this poll anyway? Zaleski is an experienced economist and TRUE conservative that isn't just conservative when it is fashionable to do so. Why would you elect a lobbyist or a lawyer when it is the economy that is the most important issue this country is facing! Zaleski is going to win because no one else appeals to the people like he does.

Rural Arizona with its mining, ranching, and its recreational areas concerns, which incorporate a great amount of CD-1 is in need of experience as well as knowledge and education. We need an individual with wide vision rather than focused in or on a particular passion. In the forty years that I have been working at one of the local copper mines and in the four years that I had been on the Town Council of Miami Arizona, two years as Mayor, along with the twenty four years in the Arizona Air National Guard have reinforced my opinion that experience will win over highly educated, specialization, or certification every time.
My Vote is for Rusty Bowers!

Beauchamp is my choice. He knows the law and opposes everything liberal. But even more, he knows how to stop the liberals and the agenda that's killing this country. When I heard him speak, he was thrown some pretty tough questions, and he answered unhesitatingly. He doesn't carry notes, because he doesn't have to try to remember what he said last time to his audience. He simply knows what he believes, knows how government works, and is a hard worker himself. He'll make waves in Washington. I'm convinced. If you ask him who he's running against, his answer is, "I'm running against Ann Kirkpatrick. And I'm going to beat her." Love it.

Dear North Country, your information is very concerning. However, before I believe things I hear on an illegitimate poll I need to see the source of your information. Please send me links to your sources or an email address so I can fact check these issues myself. Thanks for the help.

North Country, thank you for acknowledging that Bowers is a professional politician. That's all anyone will take from your post
North Country - 2 years ago
I have read, ad nausem, about Bradley Beauchamp's extensive knowledge of the U.S. Constitution. I have watched every You tube video of Beauchamp's speeches and have yet to hear or see any evidence of 'contitutional knowledge' other than what could easily be garnered from Wickipedia. Thomas Jefferson School of Law, listed in US News and World Report as a third tier law school, doesn't enumerate a Constitutional Law ,Juris Doctorate. When someone such as Beauchamp claims to be a constitutional scholar, that would infer some sort of coursework exclusively in contitutional law. Beauchamp has never volunteered the 'why' of his divorce-only that he didn't want children and his wife did-so much for family values. As yet, I have heard nothing from the Beauchamp klatch except entertaining soundbites, inflated rhetoric-an no substantive plans for how he ( hiopefully, a frshman congressman) will reform Congress! It will take someone like Rusty Bowers whom understands how to arrive at a consensus among newcomers and incumbents alike. Bradley Beauchamp could not have written Arizona HB 1070. Rusty Bowers could have. It's that simple. an old hitman's axiom: Never send an amateur to do a professional's job.
Matt - 2 years ago
Rusty Bowers doesn't even live in District 1.
What was that about integrity?
Jim Beck - 2 years ago
Although I'm an independent, I'll vote for Beauchamp. I've listened to him speak several times and I believe he will best defend our U.S. Constitution and help get the country back on track.

If you all think that Rusty is just a "career politician" you're wrong. Yes, he has had the career and was completely devoted to Arizona and good values during that time. And still is devoted! But I personally think he would probably rather be working on his incredible art pieces than getting criticized by most of you, and so forth. Running the race is hard...on anyone. Why would he choose to do it then? I think it's because he really cares. He cares about what is happening, and what will happen to our country, and knows that he can make a difference! I'm glad that he has chosen to run, we need him!
As for you "Terry" take a look at this article if you're so worried about his residence: http://www.espressopundit.com/2009/08/bowers-to-run-in-cd-1.html

Thomas J. Zaleski (www.zaleskiforcongress.com) is the common sense pick for Arizona CD 1. When the economy is clearly is disarray do you hire a lawyer to fix it? The answer is no, you hire an experienced economist/ money manager to fix because they have the fiscal knowledge, experience, and background to do it. I implore all of you to check out his credentials for yourself.

Bradley Beauchamp is the clear choice. I agree that he is the best speaker, presenter, and will represent the interests of the citizens who live in the district. Really, seriously, have you listened to some of the other goofs? Gosar I can't figure out what this guy is saying when he just rambles, and Rusty is very nice, but he is simply not up to the job that needs to be done. Doc Mehta I would trust with my health, but not my vote. Brad is the clear man to take on Kirkpatrick. He can, and he will win. I agree with lots of other posts... the others are just dreaming of the Washington parties. Brad is a worker. Brad is solid. Brad is the man that has my vote.
Betsy B. - 2 years ago
Beauchamp CAN win! The other's are just fooling themselves.
Dan - 2 years ago
Okay, Bill, you are wearing your intentions on your sleeve.
Let's compare apples to apples: Bradley has both a Bachelor's in history and a Juris Doctorate in Law. Rusty Bowers has a degree in watercolor...
I don't want someone who can paint me a rosy picture of "Family Values." I'd rather have someone with an education even remotely associated with law who can discern between constitutional amendments.
Let's talk issues: Rusty says he will protect children and victims of violent crimes, but where did he vote on the sexual predator registration bill? Oh yeah, against it. Rusty says he likes the Cattlemen's plan for immigration reform, but Bradley toured the border, met with the agents and then wrote his OWN plan. Incidentally, he's been endorsed by the Border Patrol.
Let's talk integrity: Bradley lives in Globe and can provide addresses and dates. Rusty lists his residence address as Superior High School. Funny, for someone with "Family Values," his wife still lives in Mesa. Oh wait, Rusty says he lives in Chino Hills, oh wait, he says he has a cabin in Payson. Ask the folks in Superior if they've ever even seen Rusty's car parked in front of the chain-link surrounding the empty high school.
Studying and teaching the Constitution DOES make someone better qualified than a pandering former state legislator who doesn't even know where he lives, OR a Nancy Pelosi shill who, when confronted by her constituency, flees the country after one question for the entire summer break.
Congressional District 1 deserves a qualified representative who will do the district's business. They will be well served by Bradley.
bill Bradley - 2 years ago
Excuse me, did you say Bradley Don went to one Thomas Jefferson's Law School? Would that be William & Mary or University of Virginia, per chance......oh, TJ Law School in 'Diego. I hear you.
Look I'm a young GOP lawyer who wants a true leader representing me in DC and I do not see it in this man who is NOT a Constitutional Law scholar; as if that will solve the problems of Washington DC. You can vainly flood the blogs and forums with all the pastors and personal testimonies of constituents, as you deem appropriate, in an attempt to create momentum for this tedious candidate; but it will not change the impression of young people who meet him. He is the lackluster candidate in the field. He is totally lacking in relevant experience or charisma and would be an incompetent congressman unable to draw others to whatever convictions he may hold besides his reelection.
Dan - 2 years ago
Wow, Bill, how is the weather on your planet? Bradley has practiced more law than our President, he has run a business, his law firm. Also, you are incorrect in stating he's been campaigning for two years. He started in January, walking CD-1, talking with constituents and asking for signatures.
Saying Bradley is ill-prepared to answer any question is like saying lions are unprepared for meat. You must have been at a different event. I saw him verbally and constitutionally spank the other candidates at numerous events.
Bill stated, "He is not prepared to do so and will succumb to temptation presented to him through the power of the position he holds and those brought by more clever people than he." Having known Bradley his entire life, I can state without reservation, there are few more clever than he, and none running in this election.
Save your agenda for after the primary, Ann will need all the shills she can get.

Shane Stantos - 2 years ago
Bill - you are unreal. Bradley is the only candidate who knows the issues. He is the only one who performs at candidate forums. Why does he have a passionate following? Because he knows what he is talking about. YOU DON'T. Thomas Jefferson is fully accredited law school from the ABA and is a member of the AALS. If you're jealous he has a JD, that's one thing, but don't lie to cover up your degree-envy. You want to talk about bombing at candidate forums? How about Gosar not knowing what the 10th Amendment was and asking Ken Bennett for help? Or what about Rusty mistaking the 16th Amendment for the right of women to vote? Bradley has answers, solutions and the drive to get it done. His Border Plan is endorsed! Law enforcement that actually VOTES IN THE DISTRICT supports him. At a forum, Brad himself said it best - if your car is broken, you see a mechanic; if your government is broken, you need an attorney who ACTUALLY KNOWS THE LAWS TO FIX THIS PLACE. Your rant is meant to be clever, but comes off as mean spirited and unfounded. Just saying things doesn't make them true. Beauchamp is the one candidate I would trust to actually make life better for us in AZ while he's out in Congress.
Bill Bradley - 2 years ago
Bradley is a former dishwasher with a law degree from an unaccredited California law school. He has barely practiced law; never built a business; nor has he practical experience leading any organization in the private sector; he has campaigned for 2 years. Sorry, ladies and gentlemen, that sounds like our current U.S. president, another constitutional law "scholar" who grasped for power.
TEA party candidates will win if they are solid, charismatic candidates. Labeling Beauchamp "chrasimatic" belies the evidence he presents at candidate forums. Bradley is a candidate that will attract absolutely no votes outside of his insular support group who is emotionally invested in this small man, this dull thinking candidate. He has the charisma of a gila monster and conveys his thoughts like a shrill salesman selling tanzanite on The Jewelry Channel. It will not attract sober thinking independents. It will not attract the rest of the GOP in AZ-1.
Taking two Constitutional Law classes does not qualify Beauchamp as a constitutional law expert. It is merely a talking point by a man desperately seeking a purpose in life, today, it is politics. At the last candidate forum in Prescott I was truly embarrassed for this shadow of a man who was standing up there with his coat off, hands jammed into pockets, eyes cast downward and rocking like a school boy; who was ill prepared for any question that was not prepared beforehand and asked by members of his entourage, e.g. the fair tax question, which Beauchamp had memorized and presented in rote.
I feel for those for those TEA party members who dominate the forums and the blogs attempting to bolster this man who has little knowledge of the way the world works. A man who has never been in a position of responsibility and because of this he should not be given responsibility to govern our lives. He is not prepared to do so and will succumb to temptation presented to him through the power of the position he holds and those brought by more clever people than he.
AZ-1 needs a true political outsider who has experience being responsible for entities in the private sector and will go to Washington to diminish the role of the federal government in our lives.

Rusty will do the BEST Job!!! He has the experience, sincerity and integrity to do the best possible job for Arizona - VOTE FOR RUSTY BOWERS!!!!
Bill - 2 years ago
I have met three of the candidates, and read up on the others. Without question, Bradley Beauchamp is the right man for the job. He cares about the people he will represent, and he will represent the people of CD-1 and not medical, dental, mining, or other special interests. He will be responsible to the people. My strongest support for the man who can beat Kirkpatrick.
Carol - 2 years ago
Bradley is the only choice. In this race, we need a candidate who can beat the incumbent and has the strength to fight Washington. Only Bradley has the fortitude, charisma, intelligence, etc. to pull that off. I have spent hours talking to him one-on-one and believe me, he is THE ONE. He will give Congress a run for its money. No shrinking violet is he! Why waste serious money and votes on the others who cannot carry it off. Put someone in the race who can not only win, but make real changes in Washington. If you have not heard Bradley, do yourself a favor. You want someone who is an intelligent and motivating speaker, look no further. And he does not need teleprompters. It has been said that BO carried the election with his great oratory powers. PLEASE! What a joke. Well, Bradley really has those oratory powers and can relate with the young, the old and everyone in between.
Ken Levin, Sr. - 2 years ago
First, any of our candidates will be an improvement over Kirkpatrick. That being said, the difference between the leading two, succinctly, is this: Beauchamp, a dishwasher at 21, an attorney at 31, having gone to law school to
refute others who "use" the Constitution to advance their own aims, is the best of the leaders, IF; the voter does really want to do away with "politics as usual" and "professional politicians". Our greatest goal as a constituency is to return the country to our roots Constitutionally, the Seed that right thinking and right policy will grow from. Right thinking results in right policies. Take a hard look at the two leaders. Carrying the Constitution "IN" you is much more important than carrying it "ON" you. Be fully informed; then vote.
George - 2 years ago
There has only been one choice since day one-- Bradley Beauchamp. Sorry gang but it's time to face facts. Brad is the only candidate who can WIN. Rusty, you are a nice old guy, but you can't win. Doc Metha, you are intelligent but you can't win. Doc Gosar, I can't understand a word you say-- stay on the meds. Joe, just stop splitting the vote. Ann: It's time to come home. Bradley Beauchamp is educated, articulate, caring, concerned, and listens to the people of his district and not out of state money. Let's stop the fighting and run someone who can beat Kirkpatrick-- that candidate is Bradley Beauchamp. There really is no other choice.

Who is Rusty Bowers anyway? Isn't he a part of the state government that let us get into so much financial trouble? Haven't we had enough with people who live out of our district? I'm voting for Bradley!
Kerrie - 2 years ago
Pete's picks have lost all credibility. I'm voting my conscience from here on out. Pit Bradley against Rusty anyday and Bradley comes out on top! Rusty feels just like the same old, same old! Bradley is exactly the calibre we need in Washington. I can't wait to hear Bradley clean Ann's clock in a debate. I've never been more exited about anybody running for any office in my life--He inspires me! Go BEAUCHAMP!
David - 2 years ago
I love how not all of the CD-1 Candidates are even listed in this poll. I question the very legitimacy of this poll when whoever created it can't even look on the Secretary of State website to list all of the candidates. http://www.azsos.gov/election/2010/Primary/FullListing.htm Paul Burton, Sydney Hay,Thomas Zaleski, and Jon Jensen are all not listed! I personally support Thomas J. Zaleski ( www.zaleskiforcongress.com) because he isn't a career politician and he is the most intelligent candidate available. At least half of these "republican" candidates don't even know who William F. Buckley Jr. was! Zaleski was a personal friend and student of his! If that doesn't tell you about his conservative credentials just read through his website.
Oh boy. Well I have to agree with some of your educated comments but some of you simply don't know what you are talking about. Bradley Beauchamp has won all debates against the other candidates, that have had the nerve to show. He is endorsed in most areas, see his website. Yes Bradley has taught the U.S. Constitution, loves High schoolers and he doesn't have to open a pocket guide, He KNOWS the Constitution and the LAW. He is a humble servant of the Law in Globe, definitely not an arrogant attorney! Bradley CHOSE to practice in Rural AZ rather than be a big city slicker, he cares about small towns, individuals, illegal immigration and securing our borders. He is concerned greatly about employment and creating jobs here in AZ and has many great ideas I am confident he will put into action when he is elected and defeats Liberal Ann!.
I am with the ROC'N Flagstaff Tea Party and the Fed, State & Flagstaff Republican Women, I have heard ALL of the top 3 Rep. CD1 Candidates MANY times. Some have the same speech over and over, I can recite two of the candidates verbage better than they now! Brad does more of a Q & A forum, not a memorized rectital. Bradley has not had any radio ads to date that I am aware of and he has raised EVERY Campaign dime, by Arizonans! He has driven close to 60,000 miles around CD1 speaking, knocking doors, meetings, listening and answering tough questions. Bradley has driven down to our Border to speak with Border Patrolman, unnecessary but HE is committed and intersted to hear what THEY have to say and he has just been endorsed by the National Border Patrol Council’s largest sector, Local 2544
Lester many of us ARE involved....many of us are fighting hard for this Election, I am NOT getting paid!
Pastor Dutton is exactly right, Bradley is the ONLY Candidate that has it all! Passion, No self interest, No prior agenda, understanding of legal documentation and Bills that are not comprehensible to most, which is extremely important in Congress, the House and Senate.
Brad is a God fearing man, Patriotic, hard working, available, sincere and passionately committed to holding on to what our Founding Forefathers set in place and even died for, so all of us "Americans" could comment, speak our mind and VOTE in this Great Nation! Let Freedom ring! Bradley Beauchamp is truly the only candidate who can beat LiberalAnn and survive the nonsense going on in D.C.! His Integrity runs deep! Play fair....
PLEASE- VOTE BEAUCHAMP for CD1 2010!!!

Which of them will take there oath of office seriously and help to uphold the laws of the land.
Which of them Support the 1st, 2Nd, 4th, 10th and 16th Ammendment and will work to bring the rights back to the State?
We know that they alll get the message of Job's, Economy, Smaller Goverment and reducing national dept and cut spending.
I have become more of an American constituionalist Independent conservative as I feel the GOP so often does not here the people and support candidates with wrong values.

I normally don't chime in on these votes, but on this I see some missinformation being given. So that you may hear from someone that has been invloved I thought I would join the comments. I am not giving anykind of indoresment but only perspective. I've been involved for a number of years in knowing and working with people in the political arena. I worked several years with Rusty Bowers in the Arizona State Legislature. He was always one of the top constitutional voters each year. He has studied the constitution and under stands it's proper application. I know of no other candidate more founded in the constitution than Rusty. I personally would want a person in Washington that has spent their time applying the founders intent of the constitution and the rule of law.
Cindy Vanderlinden - 2 years ago
A proven track record in government is exactly what we DON'T need - more politicians. Bradley is a private citizen, a constituional expert and most of all has integrity. He is not arrogant and takes the time to listen to the people and intelligently address their concerns.
Pastor James Dutton - 2 years ago
I must admit I am impressed with nearly all of the candidates desiring to run against Ann Kirkpatrick this year. It seems some quality people with solid conservative values have been motivated enough by the condition of our Country and the unconstitutional manner in which it is being governed to step up to the plate and do something about it.
That being said it is our duty to pick from among these fine people the most qualified candidate to support in this all important election.
I for one have gone to many Meet the Candidate gatherings and have spent time contacting the prospects and asking them questions pertinent to the challenges facing our Country and State. While I do not claim to be a "know it all" or superior to any other voter in the district I feel some basic and logical questions must be asked before we throw our support behind any one candidate.
1. Does this person actually know and understand the Constitution of the United States not just talk about it?
2. Does this person support a return to our Constitutional form of Government and do they have a plan to carry it out?
3. Will this person be able to face the myriad of lawyers opposing our push to return to a Government regulated by the Constitution?
4. Will this person be able to discern whether a bill submitted by Congress has Constitutional legitimacy BEFORE it goes to the floor for a vote?
5. Does this person have the intestinal fortitude to stand up and represent us in the face of ardent and passionate opposition?
6. Will this person actually represent the people that put him/her in office and speak our mind on the issues?
7. Does this person understand that America is a Christian nation and that faith in God is an integral part of the founding of this Country?
In my opinion there is only one candidate that possesses all of the above necessary qualifications to actually get the job done and I would encourage each of you to hear him, ask him questions, and challenge him on any of the issues that are so dear to all of us.
The man that has gained my respect and support in the District 1 Congressional race is Bradley Beauchamp.

Son, your father may have represented Mesa well, but we don't need to be saved by maricopa county.
Daniel Bowers (his son) - 2 years ago
Don't hold a person's political career against him automatically. That is foolish. If he made poor choices during his career, hold that against him. If he made good choices during his career, that should earn your trust. Some of us seem to be so disillusioned with politicians that we unfairly assume each one is a bad person. The fact is that there are many good people on our side, including Rusty.
I asked him what separated himself from other candidates who probably shared most of his views. He said he had EXPERIENCE and a HISTORY to show he would vote conservatively. Here is a summary of his record:
https://rustycountry.com/issues/rustys-record/
Russell Bowers has lived in District 1 longer than some of the other candidates have been alive (as I recall).
Also, he speaks Spanish fluently, lived in Mexico, and has visited friends there quite a few times over the years. Seeing how we have many difficulties with our neighbors to the south, having someone like that in Congress is a definite plus.
If there's one thing I've learned about politics, from my dad's experiences as well as studying economics, it's that things are often not what they seem; we need to educate ourselves instead of immediately choosing what may be obvious to us at the moment.
Good luck Dad.

I have listened and spoken to all of the candidates running for CD-1 and the one that stands out most is Bradley. He is the pit bull that will be chewing some ass in Washington if everyone who believes in the Founding Principles and the Constitution vote for him to replace Liberal Annie. We need new blood representing us in Washington. With Rusty, it would just be politics as usual and that's what has gotten us into this mess. If you are not sure who to vote for in November, do what I've done, join a Tea Party group or Republican Club in your area so you can see, hear and talk with the individual candidates so you can become an informed voter. I will be voting for Bradley and I hope you will too.
Joy Staveley - 2 years ago
I hope everyone will strongly consider Bradley. We believe he has the best chance to beat Ann Kirkpatrick. He is young, energetic, bright, well versed, has good ideas that make sense and is strong on the Constitution. When he speaks, he makes sense, and he appeals to a wide spectrum of folks. He's got the charisma!
Gwen Sick - 2 years ago
I will support Bradley Beauchamp in the primary. He is the candidate that can give Ann Kirkpatrick a run for her money. She will not be able to debate him in the General Election. He is just to smart for her.
Quang - 2 years ago
I personally support Rusty Bowers because he is the only one who can go one-on-one with Kirkpatrick. Should Mr. Beauchamp win the primary, I will support his campaign 1000%.
Quang - 2 years ago
Isn't it wonderful that you people beat the shit out of each other while trying to accomplish the same goal. I'm sure Anne Kirkpatrick is loving it. Stop the nonsense and vote on August 24 for your candidate and quit throwing dirt at each other. The liberals are collecting your comments for another day. I met both candidates one-on-one. Beauchamp is no more of a constitutionalist than Bowers. Just because you're teaching it, it doesn't make you better than anyone of us. Vote your conscience, but vote.
Ray - 2 years ago
Bradley is the one who will beat Kirkpatrick in November. Every time I see Rusty and his back slapping Colgate smile I get the sense he is politics as usually. I heard him at Emery Riddle last fall in a debate with Bradley, clearly he is lacking the constitutional knowledge that Bradley has and he left no doubt in my mine that he would support legalizing the illegals in our state and county. Rusty is a poor choice to beat Kirkpatrick. As some one else said on he is does not really live in CD 1, we have that already with Kirkpatrick.

Rusty is an elitist, career politician, carpetbagging lobbyist. We don't need to be saved! No rusty!

Pete-
The "property" also referred to slaves. Not something I think Rusty would appreciate. Fact is, that may have been a draft but wasn't in the final document. Glad you can acknowledge that 1) bradley is an expert when it comes to our founding documents 2) rusty is a carpetbagger 3) rusty is a successful lobbyist. I'm sure his clients are salivating at the thought of having their puppet in congress. So much for his constituents... Oh, and just so you know, we don't need to be "saved" from another carpetbagger. Good to know that's how the bowers camp feels about cd1
Perry - 2 years ago
John Kyl was also a small business advocate before getting into Congress; he works for Arizona and America's interests. Instead of criticizing Rusty for his civic involvement, we should be asking if Rusty working with hundreds of small business across CD1 will help him represent rural Arizona in Congress.
Pete - 2 years ago
Typical Liberal response to success... "Somebody else has too much and we should all be angry and jealous"... never acknowledging the hard work of the individual.
Maybe you're confused, I believe it was Terry who made the comment about career politicians. I refuted it. Rusty went head to head with Ann and schooled her on the Health Care debacle... she is on video agreeing with him at her Prescott office grand opening. And redistricting is not a nebulous concept that can be summarily dismissed with trite phrases, it is a historical fact and can be substantiated by records. I am excited about the "huge freshman wave" that will be coming in to our congress. However gravity must be added to the exhilaration of our great 2010 wave. A few seasoned freshmen are not a negative. Anyone will tell you that we need a little wisdom in the class of 2010. Rusty has that. Renzi was voted the most effective freshman in his first term... he served the district well, his troubles notwithstanding... Oh wait! He was a "carpetbagger" too! I don't have to look up the word... I know the history... Carpetbaggers kept the country together after the Civil War. They moved from the north to represent the southern states until trust had been rebuilt. Yes, they were despised by those they represented because they were northerners, but it was a part of the agreement after the war. They were unsung heroes of America's past.
And, yes, Rusty does his job well, however you exposed your foolishness by assuming when and how he obtained those properties... If you recall, the original words were "life, liberty and the pursuit of "property"... apparently you would seek to bring reproach on those who have pursued that. So much for your pure constitutional thinking. Bradley would not even have said that... I don't think.

Bradley Beauchamp SHOULD BE OUR GUY! We don't need a career politician running for CD!!
Judy Sall - 2 years ago
I have followed Bradley for over a year now, and I am convinced he is the best candidate to send to Washington. He is strongly dedicated to helping to turn our nation around, will fight to see that the Constitution will be upheld, and is not afraid of a fight. I have heard the other candidates, and while I appreciate their efforts and willingness to run, Bradley is the one I want in our corner. VOTE FOR BRADLEY BEAUCHAMP FOR CD1!!!
Dan - 2 years ago
I like the Bowers propaganda machine, especially the "anonymous" flyers left at the meet-the-candidates forum. If I hear him talk one more time about his "family values" and his little "Ebony and Ivory" I think I'm going to chunder. Yes, let's all send a political insider to D.C. who conveniently moves to the district in time for the election, then panders to a certain demographic about "family values." What about "American values, or Constitutional values?" I'm convinced Bowers knows values...the values of political power, backroom deals and politics as usual. Sure he carries around a pocket Constitution, does he ever read it? If he spent half as much time studying it as he does with his paintbrushes, maybe he could do some good for the district.
Rosie - 2 years ago
I met Rusty several years ago. I was fortunate to travel to Navajo Nation on several occassions with Rusty while he was in the state senate. I found Rusty to be very personable and so down to earth, but most of all he listens and learns from talking to people. We need a person who understands the cultural diverersity of our district---thats Rusty. He doesn't just talk like many, he works to get the work done.
Richard Cast - 2 years ago
Pete-
Yes, you're correct. Rusty IS a career politician. Thank you for reminding everyone. This is an anti-career politician/anti-establishment/anti-incumbent election. We can't beat Kirkpatrick with someone who fits into nearly all of those same categories. Beauchamp is the only person in the race who can beat her. He is the only one with enough Constitutional knowledge to get to DC and immediately make a difference. There will be a huge freshman wave coming in and we need someone (Bradley Beauchamp) who can be a voice for CD1, Arizona, and the United States. Not another "good ol' boy".
Redistricting happened 10 years ago. I think it's a stretch to suggested he was merely "re-districted". JD Hayworth represented the old CD1, but you didn't see him running for that same district after 2000. He switched to CD5 because that's where he lived. Rusty, up until this past January, lived in and was registered to vote in CD6. How do you explain that one? Look up "carpetbagger". It might help with your answer.
By the way, how many houses does Rusty have? The answer to this question should sit well with the struggling families of CD1. I've heard him say on KYCA that he has about 7 houses in CD1. Must be good to be a lobbyist.
Pete - 2 years ago
Sheesh Terry... being fact challenged is one thing but at least learn your history of Az. Congressional redistricting. Rusty is on the outer eastern rural edge of Mesa. He has voted for CD#1 candidates until his property was finally "re-districted" out of CD#1.The school is being renovated and is a huge undertaking. Pictures will be posted for all to see it is not an "abandoned" schoolhouse. Rusty is an advocate for Arizona rocks, gravel and other mined substances. A far cry from some Washington lobbying suit who does nothing for his state. Rusty's job helps Arizona 's mining industry. If he were a professional politician as you so unthinkingly regurgitate, why did he leave politics alone for 9 years? Not the typical move of a craven politico. It's shrill drum thumpers like you who can not see the good in most of our candidates. It's not even a law that a CD#1 candidate HAS to live in the district. Rusty's dad taught in Prescott High, He has deep roots in Paulden. He is a rural Arizona advocate and THAT! is important to CD #1. He understands the lands both on and off the reservation. Rusty is the ONLY one who has DEMONSTRATED he will legislate as a conservative. Bradley has yet to cast a legislative vote to my knowledge. You may correct me there if I'm wrong. And it's Munds Park... not Munds Valley... but then you must be new to the area, otherwise you would have known that.
Gunnar D - 2 years ago
This is ridiculous! Too many republicans running this is just the sort of thing that will cause a win for Kirkpatrick. I cannot believe 5 repubs are all running for this position...the low numbers should drop out asap! and they should support the front runner! This is how we lose with 5 running!
Julie Crockett - 2 years ago
I met Rusty yesterday at a small gathering in Casa Grande. I was impressed by his ideas, and experience. He has a new supporter!
Pete - 2 years ago
Umm... Bradley has radio adds... and umm... signs... lots of signs... Rusty has no radio adds at this point... or TV ads. Rusty knows the constitution also... It's a simple document he carries with him. Come to his headquarters tomorrow at 12:30 for a free pocket constitution (for the asking) at 112 A Union Street in Prescott. Just off the Courthouse Square. Bradley's training in the Constitution is admirable however he himself stated that he became disillusioned when he realized that he was just being taught how our lawmakers have skirted and subverted the Constitution. I also don't think he has given up as much of his personal life as one would like to think. Sure... he's dropped his practice so he can be on the road... no attachments to look back to. Rusty is finishing a contract one day a week at most while he travels with and more often without his family. Rusty knocks on doors and listens... they all do. Rusty has the support of deceased CD #1 Congressman Bob Stump's widow (see above) as well as State Senator Steve Pierce and KYCA's "Professor of Freedom" and Tea Party Favorite Dr. Terry Lovell. Many more are lining up as this poll evidences. I hope Bradley does well. I love his message, but it requires sensibilities to work with others in a power situation. Rusty has proven he can do that. He's not perfect... none are, however he cares about America and Arizona 9as I'm sure the others do). His artwork reflects rural western America. His website rustycountry.com reflects that. Most of these candidates are great people. I could vote for at least three of them... maybe four. After helping both the Beauchamp and Bowers campaigns, I went with Rusty for personal and experience related issues. I will have no problem supporting Bradley if he makes it through the primary... or Mehta or Gosar for that matter...the others??? hmmmm. Well Ann DOES have to go.
Terry - 2 years ago
Mr. Bowers doesn't live in the district and only registered in the district in January this year. His registered address is an abandoned high school in Superior, but his home for the past 50 years is in Mesa. He is a lobbyist and professional politician. Do we need that, I think not. What we need is someone who is a constitutional conservative, not a professional politician and lobbyist. The only one who has demonstrated that he is a conservative with constitutional values is Bradley Beachamp from Globe. A man who lives in the district and is not a carpetbagger like Bowers and Hay (not listerd) who claims to live in Munds Valley but actually lives in Cave Creek. Absent Ann when not in D.C. spends her time in California with her husband
Julie - 2 years ago
Bradley Beauchamp is the only Constitutionalist among all the candidates! He is a true Statesman! Rusty Bowers is a politics-as-usual kind of guy, a nice guy, but a lobbyist who knows how to 'play the system.' Bradley is more knowledgeable than all the other candidates put together about how to fix what our current Administration has broken! Vote For Bradley Beauchamp for CD-1!!!
Gail Komasa - 2 years ago
Vote Rusty Bowers! He has a proven track record of working for Arizona. He has strong family values and is honest and honorable. Rusty in the U.S. Congress will bring his integrity and hard work to the tasks facing our state and our country. Vote Rusty Bowers!
Sherry - 2 years ago
Bradley Beauhamp is THE ONE to support!!! He's young, has energy and most of all I N T E G R I T Y !!!! He KNOWS the Constitution - and has taught it!! He has been a tireless campaigner, giving up his personal life to try to make a difference, if we're smart enough to send him to Washington. We definitely need Bradley to represent US here in CD-1!! He can't afford all the fancy radio ads, signs, TV spots, etc. that the other candidates are doing. He's out knocking on doors and LISTENING to people. All of his contributions are from Arizonans - - who want some 'new blood' in there!! Make it your business to find out where he's going to be speaking - - and go and listen to him. You'll see what a dynamic, honest and hard working AMERICAN sounds like these days. He CAN make a difference - - but we need to get him elected.
Richard Cast - 2 years ago
Bradley Beauchamp is the only candidate with the Constitutional knowledge and experience to bring America back. Vote Beauchamp!
Nancy Stump - 2 years ago
Rusty has the integrity and the knowledge of Arizona's issues to be a strong voice for us in Congress. I am so glad he is willing to stand for election. Hope he wins
I have been following the CD-1 race and have noted that Zaleski has not attended many of the forums where the candidates have been. How long has he been listed as a voter in CD-1? No voting record here either.
We support Rusty Bowers. He's a man of his word. A unique man with a big heart and a willingness to serve.
I dont know how to thank you enough for this poll COOL COOL COOL
Are there any non-attorney's running? It seems to me that most of the problems we face today are complicated even more because attorney's are running the show. I think we need more business people who understand economics and capitalism.
Bradley Beauchamp is married to one true love - himself. All else is but a means to an end.
David Stringer
Prescott, Arizona
Does Bill Bradley live in district 1? Probably not!!!
Poll is now closed. Thank you everyone.
Jose Angel Medina Sr.
Rusty Bowers doesn't even live in District 1.
What was that about integrity?
Beauchamp CAN win! The other's are just fooling themselves.
Quang, if Bill has to lie to make a point, it's not well said at all.
To Bill Bradley - Well said.
Which of them believe in the Constitution and support it?
Which of them will take there oath of office seriously and help to uphold the laws of the land.
Which of them Support the 1st, 2Nd, 4th, 10th and 16th Ammendment and will work to bring the rights back to the State?
We know that they alll get the message of Job's, Economy, Smaller Goverment and reducing national dept and cut spending.
I have become more of an American constituionalist Independent conservative as I feel the GOP so often does not here the people and support candidates with wrong values.
Roger
A proven track record in government is exactly what we DON'T need - more politicians. Bradley is a private citizen, a constituional expert and most of all has integrity. He is not arrogant and takes the time to listen to the people and intelligently address their concerns.
I will support Bradley Beauchamp in the primary. He is the candidate that can give Ann Kirkpatrick a run for her money. She will not be able to debate him in the General Election. He is just to smart for her.
I personally support Rusty Bowers because he is the only one who can go one-on-one with Kirkpatrick. Should Mr. Beauchamp win the primary, I will support his campaign 1000%.
John Kyl was also a small business advocate before getting into Congress; he works for Arizona and America's interests. Instead of criticizing Rusty for his civic involvement, we should be asking if Rusty working with hundreds of small business across CD1 will help him represent rural Arizona in Congress.
Pete-
Yes, you're correct.
This is ridiculous! Too many republicans running this is just the sort of thing that will cause a win for Kirkpatrick. I cannot believe 5 repubs are all running for this position...the low numbers should drop out asap! and they should support the front runner! This is how we lose with 5 running!
I met Rusty yesterday at a small gathering in Casa Grande. I was impressed by his ideas, and experience. He has a new supporter!
Vote Rusty Bowers! He has a proven track record of working for Arizona. He has strong family values and is honest and honorable. Rusty in the U.S. Congress will bring his integrity and hard work to the tasks facing our state and our country. Vote Rusty Bowers!
Bradley Beauchamp is the only candidate with the Constitutional knowledge and experience to bring America back. Vote Beauchamp!
Rusty has the integrity and the knowledge of Arizona's issues to be a strong voice for us in Congress. I am so glad he is willing to stand for election. Hope he wins
