I think they need to lower the age a little more because I'm 13. I wanna go on and see if people think I'm good. So many of my friends say I need to try out when I can. If I can get on, I'm gonna first sing Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts, and if I go to Holly Wood, I'm gonna sing Country Boy by Aaron Lewis. I'm not trying to be mean, but I think adults need to grow up and believe teens have potential. My whole family is supporting me, saying I need to get on, I wanna make them proud. I don't wanna do this for popularity, I just wanna know if I'm really good enough. Thank you if you believe what I'm saying.

I honestly think it's a great idea. I mean, look at this season how Jacee Badeaux and Kenzie Palmer are doing... awesome. So yeah, I'm 14 now and I can't wait to have the moral support that my friend is gonna give me when I turn 15 this summer and can audition with her. :))

Honestly I don't see a problem with it a lot of teens know what they want to be and I'm one of them. And thaat whole point about playing an instrument is just plain stupid there's over 200 people in 9th grade alone that can play. Lowering the age limit was perfect for me because when I'm 15 it's one less year that I have to wait.

15-28 is a resonable change its not like its that big of a deal...well maybe for me! one less year to wait, i have been counting down the years until i can try-out since i was 7 and i am now 13. IT WAS A GREAT IDEA!!!

I think that the age limit is fine, I agree the networks trying to make more money but you do have to accept the fact that there are responsible teenagers. Not all teenagers are wild partying monsters, and you have to admit that a lot of teenagers have amazing talent. Even a lot of kids have that talent, American Idols just giving them a chance. A lot of 15 year olds are probably jumping for joy right now because they get a chance to run for American Idol and don't have to wait another year.

Right on the mark, Rick. Couldn't agree more. Should have gotten rid of Ellen and 'Dawg' and replaced them with judges who know how to critique musicians and vocalists. Then let the judges scores figure in on who goes home.(like DWTS).
That way it won't be just a popularity contest.

This is going to ruin the show for adults, I was hoping they would raise the age limit. Looks like all the network cares about is making money from teenie boppers texting in their votes. I couldn't stand Ellen, sad to see Simon go (smart move on his part), this is the icing on the cake, they just lost a viewer.
