a smart move since she didn't know for sure that Jack could stop the sinking

proof that she didn't have faith in Jack to save the island and all of them

proof that she cared more about herself and her reasons for coming to the island (Claire) than Jack

disappointing. After seeing Jin willing to die with Sun, watching Kate leave Jack really hurt

proof that Kate didn't deserve Jack

Kate leaving Jack on the sinking Island to get on the plane was proof that since the island time is their reality the universe will start to course correct, the flash sideways.
It is equal to since Jacob killed MIB, MIB couldn't kill Jacob on his own. But faith has a way of correcting itself (=Ben)
