Obama had to save face, because it is all about him. He is foolish for letting him (McCrystal) go.

Yes he is President. But a person that follows a leader blindly and gives respect freely is a person that will soon be burned badly. Yes he is President. But even the president needs to earn the respect and loyalty of the people under him. A President that expects blind faith is known as a dictator in other parts of the world. A people that follows a leader blindly are also known as slaves. Even the military should question the abilities of the president, if the president gives them reason to do so. And in this case, unfortunately, I'm afraid the president has done just that.

Your people who think that the General should have been forgiven; obviously did not serve in any branch of the US military. Article 2, Section 2 of the Constitution of the United States: "The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States", I'll be one of the first people to vote for impeachment of this sitting President if the occasion arises; but as long as he is President, the US Military must abide by the civilian control of the military. Of all people in the military, a four star general should have the "brains" to know when to speak and when to keep his mouth shut in the chain of command. In this case Gen. McChrystal must have had a "brain fart" when he made those statements to Rolling Stone. From what the media has reported; he had his letter or resignation ready when he met the President, so he knew he did wrong.

As far as I'm concerned the WRONG person resigned, period! Obama should get over himself, this is not about Obama no one gives a rats a_ _ about his egomaniac feelings, he should have as many strong feelings about our country, the gulf spill, our fallen soldiers, and the everyday AMERICAN citizen who is a United States citizen!!

Mr. Obama has failed, once again in forcing the resignation of General McChrystal. The 'Orator-in-Chief' couldn't manage a fast food restaurant, let alone the United States IMHO. The individuals 'pulling his strings' made the decision and the puppet responded. Embedding a member of the 'Rolling Stone' is questionable, for starters. This is 'media?' This might be akin to embedding 'Spongebob Squarepants' and accepting 'his' opinion and spin.

    May God save us all!

I think Obama and all his clowns should be fired and Gen. MCCrystal made presedent. I think God showed Obama what he thinks of him when his speech was rained out in Chicago on Memorial Day.
