It's brown, bubbly and cola-flavored. What do you call it?

I'm from northern Illinois, where everybody called it "pop". I now live in Georgia where people say "Coke" or "soda"--but mostly drink sweet tea.

I agree with Cheryl. I am from Louisiana and it has always been Coke, no matter what type of soda you are referring to. I now live in Florida where you hear a mish mash of everything but mostly Soda.

Kryss, much of the north calls it soda, only parts of Michigan and Minnesota call it "pop". I don't know anyone in Wisconsin or Illinois who say pop.
Personally I think "pop" is the dumbest term. "Pop" is how the weasel goes, pop is married to ma, and pop is how to place a "cap" in one's bottom. Pop is not a beverage.

Well, I ask my husband "Did you want a Coke?" and he says yes so I go to the fridge and say "okay, what kind of soda, we've got A&W, Coke Zero, or Doctor Pepper?" Southerners are familiar with both terms :p :p

Northerners call it a "Pop", southerners call it a "Coke", folks in the South West & the North East (strange) call it a "Soda" & about 5 states don't know what they wanna call it. I call it too high in sugar & too low in anything good for you.
