If an Android is "locked down," are you less likely to buy it?

I will never buy an Android that limits my hacking in any way.
Root is good enough for me. Bring on the DROID X!
I like to flash cooked ROMs, but hacking is not a buying factor.
I don't care about hacking my phone.
