How do you like your PB&J?

Within the past two years I’ve taken a liking to adding honey and banana slices to my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I usually like to use bread that has honey as an ingredient, but I also like to use 8-grain or whole wheat. Dave’s Killer Bread Honey Oats and Flax is especially amazing. Two layers of Jif Natural Creamy peanut butter hold a layer of Aunt Sue’s raw and unfiltered wildflower honey on one slice of bread with a sliced Del Monte organic banana on top and a layer of Smucker’s Simply Fruit Seedless Black Raspberry, Seedless Blackberry, Seedless Red Raspberry or Concord Grape Spreadable Fruit on the other slice of bread. Put the jelly-covered bread on top of the peanut butter, honey and banana-covered bread, gently press the two slices together, pour a glass of milk, and lunch is served. I’m actually about to eat one that I just made. *takes a bite* Mmm, great sandwich! Oh, and what’s left of the banana becomes a side item.

I prefer my PB&J with strawberry preserves on a good wheat bread, every morning. Ok, so I also go with one of the "Natural" smooth peanut butters, it has a more substantial taste than Jif (my old favorite). Throw in a couple of multivitamins and call it breakfast. This is an American classic we're talking about, and for those of us who are kitchen challenged an essential.

I love peanut butter and cucumber and mayo. I make open faced to get more peanut butter, and like oat nut bread to make it seem a little healthier and add a little more crunch. I always toast and butter the bread. I don't always put on the mayo.

I'll admit that I used to be a one sided PB man, but my wife of 8 yrs. showed me back when we were dating that if you put the PB on both sides when you pack your lunch that the bread doesn't get soggy from the jelly. I have been a 2 sided PB man ever since!

PB&J's are the PERFECT food. I make them for my kids (my daughter is a fan of PB & pickles) and then I always make one for me. We go through PB & milk in my house like Lindsay Lohan goes through rehab excuses. If you're near a Potbelly's Sandwich joint, try their PB&J it is fantastic!!

Apricot jam is amazing with this sandwich. And one day, when I ran out of bread, I swirled a gob of peanut butter and apricot jam into a carton of vanilla yogurt--it was DIVINE!

I think the real question is, "grape or straberry jelly?" Hands down, I have to say strawberry. More specifically, Polander's strawberry fruit spread. It's crazy delicious. Grape jelly is not the way to enjoy a PB&J.

As important as all that is do you eat the sandwich with jelly down or peanut butter down or the other way
around. Which touches your tongue first? Very important for true fans of this.

I like to use a unique style when eating my PB&J's. I call it the Triple Stacker....it consists of three pieces of bread with peanut butter on both sides of one piece of bread (the middle piece) and jelly on one side of the remaining two pieces fo bread. Of you enjoy a good PB&J heres away to enjoy even more of it!!
