Do you think that currently we have the right balance of smoking and non smoking lounges on all our ships?

Asinine. Non-smoking cigar bars. You know, I'll bet the cruise ships could cut down their insurance costs and passenger ticket cost if they instituted non-swimming swimming pools! After all, who needs to swim? And if you're really addicted... hell, just go jump in the ocean!

While there should clearly be some common aeas that ban smoking for those passengers who want such a thing, there should also clearly be equivalent areas that allow smoking for passengers who smoke and passengers who really don't care one way or the other.

And both sorts of environments should be decently ventilated for everyone's health and comfort!

I too wish there were more indoor smoking areas. Preferably with music and/or entertainment. I am almost to the point where I am going to go to AI's resorts. If I am going to pay as much as I do for a vacation I want to be able to enjoy all of it. I don't want to be forced outside where I am exposed to the elements. I don't want to smoke in the rain like I had to do on NCL.

I also feel that another comfortable, indoor space is appropriate for smokers. It would be great to have a well lit lounge in the day time to read a book, have a conversation or play a game with friends and be allowed to have a smoke. The Cigar Bar is generally too dark and not set up for these activities. I would also like to be able to have a drink and enjoy some music in the evenings without having to dash outside have a smoke. Give the non-smokers their 90/95 percent of the public areas on the ship, but PLEASE don't make us smokers feel unwelcome on your ships.

I agree that we could use another lounge for smokers as well as one that has entertainment. So many times the musicians are playing to a few people because it's a non-smoking lounge. I'm not a smoker but have seen such a difference over the years with the restrictive smoking policies. The Atrium lounge used to be lively...now empty, the Promenade lively...now empty except on rainy days or people waiting to go to dinner on "elegant night", the Casino bar empty except for a few...when it used to be full of life. These areas used to be "fun" on the "fun ships" now they are "dead" and it takes away from the cruise. When I want a quiet spot...I find it but I used to enjoy the liveliness of the public areas that are no more due to the "non-smoking" policies. Last cruise in April when one half of the Casino was smoking and one half "non" only the "smoking" side was busy...non-smoking had two people. I don't understand how the Ship's Management doesn't recognize the imbalance caused by these smoking policies. Surely, it must be felt financally or they would go totally non-smoking as they did with the Paradise or maybe they have and that is why the price of drinks are so high now and also fares. Maybe everyone is paying for the new policies created by a minority of whiners.

I personally think they should tighten up on the indoor smoking areas of the ship. I attempted to go to the casino but, was unable to due to the thick clouds of smoke. The other option is to compromise on places like the casino and say during these hours the casino is non-smoking and during these it is smoking. That way passengers who prefer to go when it is non-smoking can. This would be a compromise that I could live with and I am sure many smokers could too.

Actually, we could use another smoking lounge or two. The non-smokers are greedy, greedy, greedy and just want it all!!!! They are so caught up in being "politically correct" and standing up on their soap box, they forget that there are others in this world besides them. Most smokers are considerate of others and there actually is room for all. Keep edging the smokers out and you will eventually "edge them out" altogether. Read the comments on Cruise Critic. Even most of the non-smokers there responding to this blog are in favor of smokers continuing to have their space. Get real people, cruisers and people in general are a diverse crowd, there should be room for everybody. Enough of this blond-haired-blued-eyed people only crap! I t hought we already won that war.
