In the US there are trout farming, catfish farming, shrimp farming, and crab farming. Why not lobster? If I had the funds I would start tomorow.

In addition to Beth's comment we should remember that the root cause of over fishing lies is the result of our federal government giving most of our prime fishing grounds to Canada, acountry with far fewer people to feed.

Are you kidding me, Since when are we depleting the stock, every store you go into they have a couple hundred lobsters. Would we like to put the men who have staked each dime of their own money to fish and lobster into the unemployment lines, just to be told they dont qualify because they are self employeed, and what do they do to make the payments on their boats. There is no insurance company thats going to reimburse them the losses like in the gulf. People lets get serious, some foolish agency is trying to push this for what ever reason. I grew up in a fishing community and we simply cannot take their lives away from them, open more waters to them and see things change, you have clipped their wings enough.
