How do you feel about a book being taken off of a school's reading list for having foul language?

If the overall message of the story is insightful and worth gaining, a few inappropriate words shouldn’t prevent students from reading the book.

It should never have been on a list to read in the first place. Children get in trouble for using that type of language in school, so why present a book with foul language in it for them to read.

Kids of all ages are exposed to inappropriate words through their parents, other kids and the media. By middle school, a mature student should be able to deal with it.

The book should be included on the list, but only after parents are alerted of the offensive language and decide it’s OK.

I remember "Catcher in The Rye" being banned years ago for similar reasons. I didn`t think it appropriate then, and don`t think our middle and high school kids need total protection from certain "words" today either. Take a look at what`s on your kids Ipod if you want to ban something

Just because kids hear these things from many different places doesn't mean they should be subject to reading them also...just one of the many things that is wrong with kids these days..and for the most part--it isn't their fault
