Who will go down as the greatest coach in this era of SEC football?

Saban wouldn't have had Tebow. Mike Shula almost recruited Tebow to Alabama, and if that had happened Shula would still be coaching the Crimson Tide. Maybe Saban would be at Tennessee.

To this point Meyer has the edge. If Bama is all they claim to be with 38 national championships then Saban has merely re-cranked the machine and it is running as expected. He also has to stay another 5 years or so, which seems hard for him. Meyer needs to stay longer too to cement a legacy. As for prior work, what Meyer did at Bowling Green and Utah is enormously more than Saban at LSU and MSU. Both are tremendous coaches, and "Canes", they have done it without their strength coach peddling steroids or rap stars handing out cash after games. Can't spell scum without UM.

You are comparing apples to oranges. What type of winning % do you think Urban would have in the NFL the "parity" league? Plus Saban won two titles at different schools. Michigan State and LSU are not elite teams in their conferences whereas Florida is in the SEC.As a result the easier and better recruiting classes. All in all Nick has had tougher challenges than Urban and has as many Titles.

I will go with Saban. Just because if Saban would of had Tim Tebow for 4 yrs, more titles in Bama nation. Dont think Urban would of won those titles if it was not for Tebow?

Ask this question again at the end of this season. After the October 4 game at Bama, and if there's a rematch in the conference championship game, you'll have your answer!
