What is the most important question going into fall camp for the UCLA offense?

This is like listing the dozen or so pieces of a golf swing and asking which one is most important. The one you don't do at a given moment is the most important. Here are a few more: is the tight end going to contribute this year? Is the QB going to stare at his primary receiver as soon as the ball is snapped and stay on him like grim death like he did in spring football? Is the center snap going to be dribbled back to the QB or almost out of his reach 30% of the time like it was in Spring? Are the RBs going to block? It all matters. The most important question really is "Do we have enough playmakers who will step up when it counts and will we put 'em in a position to do so?"

I agree with the so far only comment. For any of the above questions to be answered in the affirmative the offensive line is the key. Nothing will work without a strong line. Even a great QB cannot suceed if he has no time to throw. He will be unable to pass to a talented receiver if he is one his back. A running back cannot run if there are no holes. My pick for break through back was Milton Knox. So much for my predictions. The revolver or "opening it up" will not work if the front line is porous.

You didn't have to see "Blind Side", or shouldn't have had, to know that the left tackle is the most important position for a right handed quarterback, and the second most important position on the team. We have a solid, experienced quarterback, for now, but the O-line remains a real question, as it has for the past many years.

When UCLA was dominent years back (per-Dorrall) we had a solid o-line and a solid quarterback or two major offensive weapons in a multi-talented running back, Maurice Jones, and superior tight end position, Marcedes Lewis.

We have had a strong defense for some time, and there have been many players ending in the pros, especially linebackers. But the big-D needs some help from the other side of the ball for a change. Is this the year?...sja
