We still need players. Good ones! We've already struck out in free agency so we cant count on that for building for the future. So that means we will need to build via the draft. We aren't winning anything, despite if we somehow squeak into the 8th seed or not. So we still need talent. Good talent! And the only way we are getting that is with high draft picks. And as we saw in this past draft even 1 pick away can make a difference (would you have wanted to pick 6th in this draft?!?!?!)
So as much as I'd like ot see them in playoffs we just arent there yet. And since we just arent there yet we need to accumulate great talent. We need another top 3 draft pick next year... wether you like it or not ;)

My heart voted for the Nets to make the playoffs in your poll, but to be honest, my head says they should play hard but finish a lottery team. This question has been perplexing me for years. The allure of getting a top draft pick and potentially next "superstar" is very compelling. Plus many basketball minds think it's better to be lousy then to be a
.500 team year after year, with no real chance of contending for a championship, because you don't have that "superstar". This Nets team is different because it does have young talent and maybe Lopez, Favors, T-Will, James plus the other young talent compensates for that one superstar core player. Or maybe in time Lopez or Favors and even T-will and James become "stars". I say we should win as many games as we can and say goodbye to the Lottery.
