Who has that "Star" quality?

Although this was the least appealing and weakest set of wannabes with the minimalist amount of cooking talent, I think that Tom should have won. He could have easily helped the Food Network with some of the stuff Guy Fiori does and is more charismatic than the others. Who would have wanted to see Herb's pity-me face or Aarti saying "My Mum" constantly. I can only hope that Tom will be offered a job somewhere...maybe the Cook Channel.

I disagree with others who said Aarti won because of her indian background and what she could bring to the Food Network. I have religiously watched the Next Food Network Star for many weeks and except for 1-2 weeks when she fell out of her elements, Aarti consistently brought some of the best tasting foods to the judges' tables. Her foods were good enough that they wowed the 4 Iron Chefs last week. Bobby Flay said her shrimp was seriously delicious and he would love to open an indian restaurant with her. Michael Symon said her foods were outrageouly delicious and some of the best foods he has tasted in the past 2-3 seasons of the NFNS. Cat Cora said one of Aarti's dishes could be served in Kitchen Stadium (i.e. iron chef quality), and Morimoto said her foods had a lot of impact. These comments tell you something about Aarti's foods. That said, I do love Herb's energy and passion, and I really love Tom's 'big' personality. I would have been happy if Herb or Tom had won because I thought they did great and would bring a lot to the FN too. There were several other (past) contestants on the Season 6 NFNS I didn't care for but my favorites have always been Aarti and Tom. I would have watched Tom's or Herb's show had they won. However, we now have Aarti as the winner, I would make sure to tune in. She has taught me something new about indian food and I love spicy, exotic flavors. Congrats to Aarti! I hope Tom and Herb would get their own shows some days. If not, I hope their presence on TV for the past 10 weeks would help boost their careers.

Aarti should not have won....The only reason is because of the indian cuisine......The Big Chef...Tom is fun ,cool to watch and more like the average person......bad decision

Although Aarti's food seemed to wow judges, I loved Herb's personality and, let's face it, healthy eating made flavorful...wouldn't that be something that this too heavy nation needs to begin to learn? I loved his passion and his drive. Keep it up Herb!

i would watch Tom. The others can also cook. But Tom would make me try different dishes and adventure in my kitchen. In my opinion Tom has the personality and flair. I would not cook any of the other dishes of the finalist at this point. I have cooked some of Melissa's recipes and I do watch her. Good luck to all and the network. Maybe missed with Arti as rhe choice.

I have been watching the show since day one and have always loved watching Aarti. she is calm and knows what she is doing. I love to see something different on food network. I was definitely going to quit watching Food network if she wasn't crowned. I would watch her. Congrats Aarti am proud of you.

I'm very disappointed by the finale. I was excited of the thought of having Herb join the Food Network team ... this avenue would have been very refreshing. I say, bring him back!

I love Aarti! I think Indian food would be a great addition to the food network. Aarti has a wonderful presence and is the perfect person for the job.

Love the guys but it is Aarti all the way!!! I do not like spicy foods but I would watch Aarti's cooking show because she is so charismatic and interesting - very easy to watch and learn from.

First, all contestants should be congratulated for their guts and gusto for trying for the "gold". I do think that then last three were lucky to get there as there at least a half dozen just weren't always there at the right time or place. The only thing that Arti has going for her is her background and what she could bring to the tube. Both gentlemen have to go up another peg to bring that same essence, It's anyone's game.

Aarti is so appealing, she makes me want to learn how to cook indian food. she is calm, very sweet and makes you feel
like you already know her. I hope she wins, I feel food network needs to add indian menus to their audience. After all there are many indian people in this country that would like to see one of their own making it on tv. I love Aarti and so does my family!! Go Food Network, open you eyes and see the open friendliness Aarti naturally has.

Whether you like aarti or not, she is the only chef that brings a new cuisine instead of the all-american cuisine. For once food network should pick a person who brings a new culture and food together and aarti does that. I would watch her show because there would be a lot of recipes and a lot of ways to cook a new cuisine. As far as herb's concept, i would get tired by the healthy w.flavour p.o.v because there are already chefs(not on food network) who has the same concept as he does. Tom has a better camera presence than the 2 but his dishes are the same as previous food network stars. His show would be "been there done that" kind of show considering there are chefs that has the "big chef, big food" concept. Being a non-indian I would definitely watch every episode of aarti because I am trying new food everytime, considering there's a million ways to cook indian food. She had me there, but the other 2 chefs have not connected to me for the long run like aarti did.

I think Arti makes you feel so comfortable. Her smile and love for food makes you want to watch her on her own show. I certainly look forward to seeing more of her. Lets face it, she knocked it out of the park at the iron chef challange so that should tell you that she has alot in store for viewers.
