I'm a pizza delivery guy working my way through college. All we do is bring it to your door? I don't think so. I work 40-45 hours a week at my pizza joint, cooking, cleaning, doing prep work, answering phones, dealing with customers, and delivering. In my own car. For which I pay for gas and repairs, not the pizza company. Without tips we make minimum wage. If you don't want to tip or you are one of those who thinks that $1-$2 is a good tip, then please take your cheap self somewhere else. I promise it will not bother us at all. I treat my customers very well and am nice to all customers, even the ones who do not tip or tip badly, but who do you think is going to get better service? Not to mention some less than scrupulous people I have worked with that have taken liberties with people's food who they remember did not treat them well. I wouldn't do it but I have seen it done.
And btw, I claim all of my tips after expenses. Anyone who works at my shop and doesn't gets fired.

Seriously? 15-20%? Maybe it makes sense to tip a waiter more when the food costs more, because you expect better service at a better restaurant. But the delivery guy? All they do is come to your door, whether it's a burrito or take out from a four star. Maybe you can tip more if he's carrying more, or has to go up stairs, or travel a long way to your house. But the whole effort takes less than half an hour, so no way is it worth more than a few bucks. This is a low paying job, folks, and they are not paying taxes on the tips. Stop feeling guilty about it.

I usually tip more for delivery than I do for Pick up exspecially if I have to wait longer than 5 min after the time I am given for pick up. Usual tip is 5-8 bucks depending on the deleviry person and there attitude when the show up and if the food is all there.
