Before I really begin, ONLY LEGAL US CITIZENS have Rights in this country.
We DO under the First Amendment have the right to protest ANYWHERE/ ANYPLACE to ANYONE.... WITHOUT A PERMIT... THE US Constitution IS OUR PERMIT! Dont forget that. So until we as American CITIZENS do that very thing in large numbers, we will continue down a road that is not convenient and the end of that road is death to America.
Our Constitution that I HOLD DEAR, that GIVES ME and ALL Legal CITIZENS of the USA THE FREEDOM to worship the ONE TRUE GOD how ever they see fit. We are banned from agreeing or disagreeing with ANYONE who worships or HOW they worship The TRUE God. THAT was how it was INTENDED when written by true Men of God. It isnt worded like that however and HAS BEEN ABUSED so that even devil worshipers can abuse the Constitution's freedom for the poeple.
Sadly (for the muslims), i steadfastly believe that Christians worship a different God than muslims do.
Our Christian God who is Creator and OWNER of the earth and that is in it (Exodus 9:29, Psalm 50:10, Psalm 24:1, 1 Corinthians 26 & 28, etc). Our God commands us NOT to murder, their god tells them to kill all who are not muslim if they dont convert or try to convert FROM muslim faith.

Is it to throw it in our faces that they won? because if you dont think they won, then you have not been living in the USA all these years since the 9-11 attacks or any term of years prior. If you had, you would KNOW that we have lost many of our own freedoms in the name of safety.

It turns out that Iman Rauf and his wife - as well as his Imam father before him - are NOT the moderates that would have you believe. In their hearts - and as they are recorded as having said publicly - they consider that America has more Muslim blood on its hands than does al-Qaeda!! And the name of their project - the Cordoba Initiative (now, apparently, renamed 51 Park, in an attempt to allay very real fears) - is a signal all on its own, bruited loudly to the Muslim world - the ummah - that their beachhead in America has indeed been established. Conquest & dominations have been the hallmarks of the bloody history of Islam since its founding 1400 years ago by a man now known in history (but rarely recognized in Islam) was a very sick and evil person who slaughtered thousands in the name of Allah. The whole concept of this Victory Monster Mosque is totally offensive to ALL Americans who take pride in their heritage and (should) still rebel against tyranny.
It is a victory Mosque. When Islam conquers a city, they tear down the local temple and replace it with a Mosque as a symbol of supremacy and triumph. Besides being the ultimate insut to the victims, it will be a huge morale booster for the mujahideen. It will improve their recruitment efforts and bolster their fundraising. .

There is only one reason why they want to build this close to Ground Zero.....it implies 'conquerer status' to them. They have built mosques in many parts of the world - usually on the ruins (which they created) of buildings from other religions such as Christian or Jewish. This is just another step to bring America to islamic sharia law!! This is pure jihadism on the part of the imam & the 'developers'....by the way, where did they get the funding?? No one has the answers to that yet. This is such a painful thing to put the families of 9/11 through & I'm glad to see so many Americans (over 70%) standing up against this abomination. islam doesn't belong in the United States - they want us to be tolerant....where is the tolerance toward Christianity lately? We aren't even allowed to honor Jesus' birth at Christmas anymore...our children don't take a Christmas vacation from school - it's Winter break or some such nonsense! But they have put a false history in textbooks to make it look like islam has actually contributed to art & beauty, math & science.....they haven't evolved since the dark ages!! I was born in New York; a half hour from the WTC. But I was living in Florida at the time of the WTC attacks. I could hear the F16's flying over my sister's house while we were talking on the phone. It took me over an hour to get through to her. I will never forget the fear that coursed through me as I worried about my family and friends in NY. The sights and sounds are something a person can never forget. I will NEVER FORGET. EVER. To build a mosque there is a slap in the face to every american; especially to the family members and friends of those innocent people who died horrific deaths that day.

I, too, endorse the Mosque at Ground Zero, for all the reasons Bob cites in addition to the following.
First of all, the people who are accused of the acts on 9/11 are only a small percentage of all Muslims. To accuse all Muslims of being like the terrorists is tantamount to accusing all Christians of being like the radicals who maim and kill in the name stopping abortion. Such a thing is totally ludicrous. My second reason is that I feel that forgiveness is a positive Christian trait that is appropriate here. Would Jesus teach that forgiveness should only be granted to certain groups of people? I think not.
Ground Zero belongs to all the victims and warriors who were wounded or died that day and in its wake in the Islamic Jihad. As well it belongs to all Americans who have suffered the loss of loved ones and still sacrifice to this day. We are still at war with Islam. To Hell with them and their Mosque or whatever that they want to call it. When they stop the assault on the West we may reconsider but I doubt it.

I was down there the day of September 11, 2001. I was working in the Empire State Building and that mourning was standing outside on 33rd St with a couple of co-workers having a cigarette, that is when the first plane flew overhead. When I got and upstairs within a couple of minutes the second plane hit, then they annouced that the NYPD was evacuating the entire building. I started to walk downtown to see what was happening only to see the first tower come down and everyone and all the emergency vehicles were with white ash and people jumping from the top floors. I came to a location that you couldn't go any further and people just stood there watching, that is when the second tower come tumbling straight down.
Seeing what was happening and being there while it was happening is something that can never leave a persons mind. By allowing them to build this mosque anywhere close to tower once stood is nothing but a slap in the faces to those who died that day and their families and is definitely a huge victory to all islamic radicals.

You can not change it that fast just satisfy a select few. Freedom of religion is a basic fundamental right.

The attack on 9/11 was horrific and ultimately it was an attack to the way of life in America and the freedoms we stand for. The irony is the debate that is going on is exactly what they wanted. They wanted us to be divided and for us to tear ourselves apart. If we let Fear win, you let the attackers win.

Bob, nobody is claiming they *can't* build it, that it's illegal. You're arguing something that's not in dispute. Lots of things are legal but still very wrong. I could meet your wife for drinks, invite her back to my hotel room and make her sing to the heavens while her toes are curled tight, and that would be perfectly legal -- but it sure hell wouldn't be right, now would it?
Lots of things in life we have a perfect "right" to do, but that doesn't necessarily make them right.
The fact is, this whole argument is a massive scam and two-thirds of Americans see right through it. The builders don't want this thing as a bridge or symbol of peace and tolerance. If that's what they wanted, they wouldn't have tried to name it Cordoba House. They wouldn't have scheduled the opening for the tenth anniversary of 9/11. And when millions of people strongly objected, they would have respected that. That's what you do when your intentions are benign.
Instead, they arrogantly went ahead with their plans, basically gave everybody the finger, and called US names for not welcoming their offensive ambition. That's what you do when your intentions are NOT benign.
If they really wanted to build a bridge, they would simply accept the offer of free land to build the thing elsewhere. It's the right thing to do.

The attack on 9/11 was horrific and ultimately it was an attack to the way of life in America and the freedoms we stand for. The irony is the debate that is going on is exactly what they wanted. They wanted us to be divided and for us to tear ourselves apart. If we let Fear win, you let the attackers win.

I am very much afraid that right wing extremists have hijacked the political agenda to further their particular causes without regard to what's true or what's right. We have sunk to a new low of intolerance and hatred seeing enemies everywhere. We can no longer distinguish friend or foe. Our true enemies are smiling at our confusion and escaping.

Bob, nobody is claiming they *can't* build it, that it's illegal. You're arguing something that's not in dispute. Lots of things are legal but still very wrong. I could meet your wife for drinks, invite her back to my hotel room and make her sing to the heavens while her toes are curled tight, and that would be perfectly legal -- but it sure hell wouldn't be right, now would it?
Lots of things in life we have a perfect "right" to do, but that doesn't necessarily make them right.
The fact is, this whole argument is a massive scam and two-thirds of Americans see right through it. The builders don't want this thing as a bridge or symbol of peace and tolerance. If that's what they wanted, they wouldn't have tried to name it Cordoba House. They wouldn't have scheduled the opening for the tenth anniversary of 9/11. And when millions of people strongly objected, they would have respected that. That's what you do when your intentions are benign.
Instead, they arrogantly went ahead with their plans, basically gave everybody the finger, and called US names for not welcoming their offensive ambition. That's what you do when your intentions are NOT benign.
If they really wanted to build a bridge, they would simply accept the offer of free land to build the thing elsewhere. It's the right thing to do.
It's just not right.....on all levels.
There is basic simple reason.(s) I do not oppose the Islamic center with a prayer room.
The US Constitution, The Bill of Rights. warriors have fought for it. It was ratified by all the States. You can not change it that fast just satisfy a select few. Freedom of religion is a basic fundamental right.
I hate all the blown out proportion rhetoric that has been given to it. All it will do is solidify, WHEN it goes to court, that they have a constitutional right, and it will make everyone who said, did or wolfed any noise about it. It is a Islamic Civic type center that will be run by Islamic folks, but is open to all. Including the prayer room
