The first with no monsters? I like it but I want something horrifying to haunt my thoughts like Pandorum. Perhaps what lies in the darkest of hallucinations of someone suffering from a severe case of pandrum. The terror that his insanity causes on him and on those around him. Maybe even eluding to the question to the audience that he is perhaps seeing things that might be real on a supernatural level.
The sequel sounds amazing. There is new, dangerous, qnd giant life on this planet (or at least in the sea it appears) and I can't imagine all the possibilities that could come from that. All while dealing with trauma and trying to build a civilization with people that might be murderous from the tragedies that set the stage? It could be an immaculate piece of scifi horror, or it could get ruined by the presence of Hollywood trying to make a buck...
The ways they could mark such an amazing story is possibly more terrifying than the nameless cannibals themselves

I really liked this movie, years later I still wonder about this story. Would love to know more, see more. I would buy a ticket for sure. There's a whole new world on Tanis to be discovered along with it's own horrors and beauty. It was a great story, and one that may well become a reality for our species as our own world and sun die. Will we travel? Will we make it to another World? What's waiting for us there? This story is syfy, but it raised a great wonder for me.

For a $33m budget movie which was shot in a living room and had nothing to promise, I cannot bare the 2nd or 3rd.

Prequel should be answering questions of earths demise, the evolution of the humanoid creatures, and the struggles of the crew and passengers during these times. The sequel should be the hardships of the remaining evacuated humans along with some of the escaped surviving humanoid creatures terrorizing for they have gathered and created a new home as well but can only come out at night or travel amongst caves!
