Fundamental rights are in my opinion, freedom to live unmolested by war, political or religious persecution, exploitation; to have enough water and food and to live harmoniosly with others.
We are the privileged who have all of this for most of the time, plus the benefits of science, health services/internet etc.
I lived through WW2 and know how bad things can be - given that in the UK we had it relatively easy.
What a silly question, of course it isn't!
