That was Arod like. If I'm going to blast Arod for his antics, I won't condone what Jeter did. That was weak.

You idiots who think Jeter cheated his way to first base have no clue because you probably never even played baseball. It's called GAMESMANSHIP, I'm pretty sure you've never heard of it, so I'll tell you!! It's his job to get on base, and it's the umpire's job to get the call right!! The way I see it, Jeter did his job, the umpire did not!
He didn't break any written rules or otherwise, I'd tell you to look it up but you're probably too ignorant for that either!!! One more thing, to compare his actions to what the steroid users, doesn't even deserve a response, because that's how idiotic it is!!!
In case you missed it, he's been more times and was never awarded first base too, this isn't the first time he tried to sell being hit, it's the first time that it worked!!!

Why would one incident which BTW he already had the base make Jeter a liar, or a cheater.
    It is smart baseball.
Why is the media so interested in destroying someone ?
Derek Jeter is great ball player and in this era of Roids and everything else, an even GREATER MAN
    End of story.
Is leaning in and taking one for the team not cheating ?
Come on stop falling for the trap of American media and the need to destroy our heros.
And Derek Jeter is hero to millions of people everywhere.

When I first saw it I thought it DID hit him, then I saw the replay and was beside myself, making up my own cuss words for Jeter since I AM a Red Sox fan. But afterwards you really think if the tables were turned. If Pedroia acted as though his hair was on fire and it turnd out to that the ball hit the bat I would think it's great. So I can't be a hypocrite. I'm just glad the Rays came back.

I always held Jeter up as an ideal, like Gehrig or Ripkin.
Now his act says it is OK to cheat to win.
I can never say to my kid "Play the game like Jeter" again.
He went from top shelf to the same level as McGuire, Bonds and Clemens.
    Anything to win is OK.
Not the ideas I want icons representing.....

It's part of the game, all games. It's like flopping in basketball or a receiver in football claiming pass interference or holding; everybody does it.
