I'm not a writer. I don't know the process. The second video gave me more of an idea of what the experience is like. It's a bit long, and the sketched people were a bit too clip-arty for me, but I got it. Check out "Common Craft" if you haven't already, they have a very simple illustration style that isn't too cartoony. Good luck. This is a cool project.
I actually found both videos enjoyable, but I picked the first. I think a person's response to the videos would depend on his/her level of interest in the product. Personally, I think they contain just enough to answer most questions a new writer would want to ask. But since it's important to catch and hold a viewer's interest, perhaps some of the details can be omitted as these can be addressed when the site is launched and viewers can browse at their leisure.
I agree with Carmen - both are too long, although I did watch all of each and prefer the second one and voted). Both need editing by someone who isn't emotionally attached to them to speed them up and cut them in half.
Of course, that's just my opinion. But I only watched them because I was evaluating them. Otherwise, I probably would have clicked away after a few seconds.
