Eberhard, do not generalise. I for a sensible parent prefer myself to define the limits instead of the government. I prefer the government not to define what's good for me, for my children or at all. Maybe it's that we hardly ever have a honest, good working government, only corrupted politicians. Maybe your politicians are nice, honest and responsible persons.
Sadly, I fail to see why anyone should regard "Increased Government Control" as a threat to the future of the internet. Today, there is hardly any government control at all, exposing inexperienced users, and our children, to all kinds of risks on the internet. Surely, the direction to take for any sensible parent would be more government control.
