Who actually expects people to let you cut them if you have 1 item and they have a bunch?
If you wanted to be before them in line you should have been quicker doing your shopping i guess. By all means its a nice gesture to let someone through if you feel like it, but should it be expected behavior? absolutely not
You get taken care of in the order you got in line, thats how the real world works
If you've ever been to a Chinese grocery store, the thing to look out for are the innocent looking little old ladies. They'll cut in front of you, run over your feet and ram you in the back if given half a chance. Whenever I go shopping I feel like a wide receiver dodging tacklers.
