The polls were all over the lot last time, and I suspect they may be this time, too. Lula's unelected lapdog is a feeble place-holder for a Lula comeback in 2014, and as Serra once pointed out, if she wins, Lula would have a tough time getting elected a dog-catcher in 2014, let alone a Deputado. To be governed by a pudgy governanta should prove a bit overthe odds for the machista Nordeste culture where Lula's roots still thrive.
