To Whom Does the Wrinkled Tube Belong?

My toothpaste tube looks three times worse than the wrinkled one...no cap, dried toothpaste on the sides, etc. But hey, I'm a college student, I have good excuses. :)

  • Ms Bon - 14 years ago

Got to be yours!............You have so many candles burning.......and with that smile you have to brush more frequently...............

  • Julie - 14 years ago

I picked you because my tube looks just like that.

  • Celia - 14 years ago

I picked you purely because my toothpaste tube is a crumpled mess and I'd like to think we have at least one thing in common :-P

  • Stacy - 14 years ago

My men are crumplers - so, I'm going with MM. When will they make toothpaste in a pump container? Seems like that would be so much easier than tubes.

  • jen - 14 years ago

Is it at all relevant that one is full and the other almost empty? Is one of you a fanatic toothbrusher, or does one of you abstain???

  • meg - 14 years ago

I'm going with you are the crumpler. My reasoning is three-fold - I feel like the crumple shows a more creative, left-brained approach, which I feel you fit; you are a middle child; and you wouldn't have shown this to us if it was the other way 'round. ;)

  • keely aka LKP - 14 years ago

not that i'm judging or anything. i'm just married to a country boy, and i'm betting they might make good friends. i'm obsessive about clean teeth. mr LKP, not so much. he's all about getting outside or getting on the job and getting it good & done. besides, his critters never complain about his breath...therefore his tube of toothpaste is tidy and looks almost untouched, or at the tail end looks almost steam-pressed (i'm thinking it's his military background shining through when it looks like that). mine on the other hand he freaks out over it's mangled mess regularly. lol.

  • Karen - 14 years ago

Mine is the messed up one, must be the Ree's tube. Besides, we brush more often. You are too funny! Makes me home-sick for life on the farm.

  • carmen - 14 years ago

I would say the nice one is MM's He reminds me of someone who is very thorough and precise. My husband is like that. He tends to be neater than I. And you my dear Ree strike me as someone who just would rather get on with the business of the day than dealing with a dumb tube of toothpaste. Who has time to bother with a tube of toothpaste?

  • Lee Ann Yahle - 14 years ago

My husband is anal and neat about everything, but squeezes the tube right in the middle or near the top every morning! (I should say he "man-handles" it!) Looks just like this one! I am the one that keeps in smooth and curled.

  • Donna - 14 years ago

At my house, the wrinkled one belongs to the boss. But I'm having a hunch here that you are not as anal as me about order...thank goodness for two tubes of toothpaste!

  • Kathryn - 14 years ago

Not really fair to compare an old tube and a pretty new one. Who knows what that new one will look like when it's almost empty! :)

  • betty - 14 years ago

Well, I voted but I don't know, I am basing my vote on how my dad did things, He was a very neat person, very conservative, wanted to make the most out of anything and would use anything he could to make it work, he was a rancher, he is now gone, my dad squeezed from the bottom, and wanted us all to do that, since we all used from the same tube, my mom, in a hurry, wanting to get the job done, didn't care where she squeesed the tube, and didn't understand why it mattered. He thought we would waste toothpaste if we didn't all squeeze from the botton, so we did.....I now do both....but at the end I have to flatten the tube out and try to get every bit of toothpaste that I can, before I get a new tube, and we are a 2 tube home....

  • MacDougal Street Baby - 14 years ago

Knowing you as I feel I do, I'm fairly confident the wrinkled one is yours. I took a similar picture of my BIL and SIL after they squeezed condiments on their hot dogs. Hers was straight as an arrow. His, a total Pollack painting!

    Have a happy Sunday!

  • Casie - 14 years ago

MM seems too particular to do that to his toothpaste. From what I know....which isn't much in the whole scheme of things.

  • gerri newfry - 14 years ago

we have to buy two tubes of toothpaste too because my husband can't stand that i wrinkle mine up. that's why i voted for you.

  • Tricia - 14 years ago

My husband and I have this same issue! His tube looks like new until it's empty (or until I use it because I'm out!)

  • Elesia - 14 years ago

I voted the mangled tube is PW's because that's how it works in our house (although we share the same tube). My husband is forever fixing the tube to make it neat while I just squeeze wherever.

  • Beth S - 14 years ago

I say the wrinkled tube is MM's. Face it, it's a man thing in almost all households that have one. Just like toothpaste on the taps and sink when they are done.

  • Lacey - 14 years ago

This is a catch-22. If the top one is yours it could suggest that MM doesn't brush his teeth as often as you.

  • stu - 14 years ago

A more interesting "debate" would be who uses the most toothpaste? Were these tubes started the same day??????

  • Kiwimom - 14 years ago

Why does everyone assume Ree would be the one wrinkled toothpaste tube, because she's so
creative? Don't ever discount the creativity some men have ;) It may not be cooking, writing or photography. But there's many ways a real man can be creative. I know a little about that. Think about it:)

  • Mae25 - 14 years ago

This is hysterical!!! Marlborough man is too calm, cool and collected to do that to a tube of toothpaste.... When his tube is near the end I am sure that he folds it neatly all the way up!!!

  • Frankie Miller - 14 years ago

ok, so at least it appears the top has been put back on. 47 years and that still does not happen at our house!

  • BlondiKnits - 14 years ago

Well, I think this is not a fair comparison, as the bottom tube looks almost full! Four people live in my house, and I buy four different types of toothpaste!

  • Angela - 14 years ago

I'm guessing yours is the wrinkled tube....it just seems a creative, talented person as yourself would want to get her teeth brushed as soon as possible so she can go have fun! And...sorry..I saw those pictures of your kitchen after you've cooked. And frankly--the crinkled tube is much more interesting to look at :)

  • Jillsy - 14 years ago

somebody needs to brush their teeth! :-)

  • Rena - 14 years ago

It's not because I think you twist your toothpaste. It's because I wonder if you're like me in that you take much of your stress in life out on your teeth. Scrubbing them like mad. A lot. Many times. Maybe I'm just assuming those tubes were started at the same time. Maybe that's a crazy thought. That would mean if the full tube were Marlboro Man's, his teeth are neglected.
    This poll is confusing.
I might need to change my vote.
I think I need more information.

  • JEssica Rose - 14 years ago

At first I thought MM because he's a man, and my man's toothpaste is the same. But then I started thinking about things like MM being a rancher his whole life, how he gets that to have this in the winter you need to do this now, you need to get up early etc etc and about how you seem more spontaneous in a way, more city girl, and I was going to choose you. But I ended up coming back to MM because of my first thought: he's a man.

  • Sue - 14 years ago

I think the wrinkled-up tube is yours! Somehow it just seems to fit the picture. :) Why? Though you both are busy, hard working people, you, yourself, have many, many, many varied things going on in your brain on a daily basis. I picture MM's life much more regimented. I always say the same thing for my DH & I. We women have to "wear way too many different hats" in a days time! :) KWIM?

  • Lynette - 14 years ago

I hate to admit that MY husband is the neat one...except for the clothes strewn about.

  • Sue in WA - 14 years ago

I picked the wrinkled one as yours, Ree, because that's what mine would look like if my husband and I didn't share the same tube of toothpaste. You see we work best as a team - I squeeze in the middle, then he squeezes at the bottom to straighten in out. That way it is ready for me to squeeze in the middle again the next time! I didn't realize how beautifully this works until one time we had separate tubes and all of a sudden I realized it wasn't as fun to squeeze in the middle when there wasn't enough paste in the middle to keep it plumped out. Backed to one tube and I'm happy!

  • Angela - 14 years ago

Okay so here's a weird one for ya - i've heard that people who crumple the toilet paper when they go to the bathroom are more of the...umm...creative type? I'm guessing the same goes for toothpaste tubes? hehe

I assume the unwrinkled tube is Marlboro Man's because he seems like he takes the time to be careful and neat about everything he does, whether it is brushing his teeth or herding the cattle. Hope it makes sense!

  • erin - 14 years ago

Mine is the wrinkled tube because I'm multitasking and in a hurry... I brush my teeth well, but I don't have time to make the tube purty... heh heh...

  • Jes (@ Self Motivation) - 14 years ago

My tube of toothpaste is always the wrinkled one!

  • I think the wrinkled toothpaste tube is yours, because you are so neat everywhere else. In the bathroom you must run out of time and grab it and go :)

  • Jean F - 14 years ago

The wrinkled one looks like hubby's. I don't have enough patience to get the last drop out... I just go buy a new one.

  • Kara Andersen - 14 years ago

I think MM mooches off of your toothpaste! :)

  • Teri - 14 years ago

The bottom one is MM. Only because mine looks all twisted and mangled as well and my husband always teases me about my "monkey death grip" on the toothpaste tube.

  • Cheri A. - 14 years ago

If that were my counter, the crumpled tube would belong to DH. But since we have a single sink and SHARE a tube, I am always straightening it out and squeezing it from the bottom up. So generally it looks pretty good.

  • MelissaO - 14 years ago

It's yours! You are tooooo busy chasing four kids, cooking, cleaning, blogging, taking amazing pics and being just plain entertaining! Of course, I could make the exact OPPOSITE argument as well.... :-)

  • angela - 14 years ago

Its yours, because we as women brush neurotically and they forget to brush at night!!!! I am a sqqqquuuuueeeeezzzzzerrrr he is a baby pusher because he says toothpaste is "kinda like poison" !!! Gosh, the things boys come up with to get out of doing something they are supposed to!! :)

  • Katy - 14 years ago

Because mine tube is all crumpled up too

  • Amanda Pfeifer - 14 years ago

I vote for the crinkled tube to be Mom's tube. Who has time to keep the tube of toothpaste neat? We have to keep EVERYTHING neat, so when it comes to toothbrushing:
Quickly get the toothbrush, pasted, and in the mouth, and while brushing: comb someone's hair, answer the phone, check email, find your other shoe, check your stockings, fix your hair, apply some mascara, give the ok on a wardrobe choice of a child, wonder where that other child found that holey shirt (you threw it out two weeks ago), aaaaaand....spit.
    Ready for the day :)

  • Rhonda - 14 years ago

Okay, so I voted for MM....but it almost seems too easy. I think I made a mistake....I think MM is very particular and immaculent (not that you're not). Now I'm thinking you're the wrinkled tubist. LOL

  • Suzanne - 14 years ago

I'd say yours is the crumpled one because you are always pointing out your own faults and never the faults of others. That's why we love you P Dub! Actually, I do the same exact thing, (the toothpaste tube thing not the faults) then at the end scrape the whole, almost empty tube, flat and squeeze out the very. last. dollop.

  • Anyes - 14 years ago

I'm going with gut feeling on this one, the wrinkled tube is yours Ree ;-)

  • Maureen L. - 14 years ago

OMG! Has my husband been brushing his teeth at your house, too! I swear his tube looks like a bearclaw squeezed it.
    Drives me nuts.

  • Stephanie S - 14 years ago

I have one of those toothpaste squeezer gizmos on my tube and when people see it they laugh. But I don't understand what is so funny...it keeps the tube neat and I get *all* of the toothpaste out!?!?!

  • Hannah - 14 years ago

As much as I would like to think the wrinkled one is MM's--that's what my tube always looks like when my husband is done with it--I think it's yours. Just a hunch :)

  • Grandma Makka - 14 years ago

I just had to laugh when I seen the tubes of tooth paste - they look like ours do
I squeeze mine in the middle and my husband is the neat one.
so I am betting that you squeeze yours in the middle also

  • Brooke - 14 years ago

Because you and I are so much alike, my "friend" I vote the mangled tube is yours. I could care LESS about how the stinkin tube looks. It comes out the same whether it's mangled or neat. I'm a believer that life is gonna come at you hard no matter what you do, so why try to prevent it? Worrying about how your toothpaste tube looks is a waste of energy!

  • Sandi - 14 years ago

Seeing as how one looks almost brand new while the other is nearing the end of usefulness, it's not exactly a fair comparison... one hasn't had time to get all mangled yet!

  • denise - 14 years ago

I think that yours is the screwed up one because MM is calm and takes time and you my lovely PW are very busy and would not have time for the small stuff am I right huh????

  • Christienne - 14 years ago

Having 3 older brothers, a husband, and 2 boys who all suffer from the "squeeze the tube from the middle syndrome" as I like to call it... I believe it must be MM's. I believe it's a man thing. Women are much more frugal and squeeze flat from the bottom until every last bit is out!

Of course, knowing Ree and her ways on other things... I could be wrong! I hope I'm not!!

  • marilyn d - 14 years ago

there are a few things to which i attribute the length of our marriage (42 years, now.) one is the little t.v. in the kitchen that allows me to escape any and all organized sports on the big tube. another is the fact that i work outside the home. we never see each other, so when we do, it's like seeing one another after a long absence. and the third, and most important is TWO tubes of toothpaste. his, and mine. he can squeeze his anywhere he pleases, and i am free to be as anal retentive about squeezing every bit of paste out of the unnaturally flat tube i call mine as i care to be. thank you very much. and if i had to give up two of the three--i would keep my own tube of toothpaste. so there.

  • Elle B - 14 years ago

My man and your man are apparently twins separated at birth.

  • sawdust - 14 years ago

I somehow think you are the one with the wrinkled tube simply because you are that busy and more important things than a straight tube of toothpaste to think about. Yet MM knows everything you do is important because of how he has to run the ranch. Not positive on this one, though!

  • Kita - 14 years ago

If I took a picture of our tubes of toothpaste, my husband's would be the wrinkled one and mine the neat one. I voted accordingly. Hope I'm right!

  • Polly - 14 years ago

Ha! I was getting ready to post something similar on my blog, but between our daughter and me. We were back in Alabama visiting them a couple of weeks back, and I noticed her tube vs. mine. Too funny!

  • Linda_M - 14 years ago

The crumpled tube is MM's, because he believes in getting the last bit out of everything, even when others might give up and get a fresh tube.

  • Kelly - 14 years ago

    Just because I think you're a mess... in a good way ;)
