Do you normally get involved in council consultations?

Am not convinced the public's views were taken into account in the case of Public Transport Review in April 2011. Despite increased awareness, support and entries relating to local demand for bus service between Towcester and Sixfields through extended existing routes, this option has not been addressed and did not even feature on the 'You Said.. We Did..' report!

The comments I made on the cuts in Wellingborough Town Bus Services have been taken into account, namely:
    - buses to the Railway Station should make good connections with the trains
    - buses to the Railway Station and Hospital should run cross-town to link with where people actually live.
    Thank you

The problem for members of the public is to guess when their views may possibly be taken into account, and when consultations are being held merely as a public relations or political soft soaping exercise.
On transport for example, I judge the LTP consultations to be genuine and I take part in them.
The only education consultation I have engaged in was over moving from three tier to two tier in Northampton. That was ruthlessly and dishonestly used as a tool for forcing through unpopular changes that damaged many children's education.
Consultations on the budget are obviously a gross deception of gullible people. Not sure if the distribution of bus subsidy cuts might be influenced by views of users, but quantity presumably is fixed.

When I am aware of polls I do respond. But publicity is not good and I am not generally aware. Not everyone scours the NCC website daily.
NCC publiscity is very poor, note the many failures for letting people to be aware of the Consultation meeting at Corby 12/05/11
