I have grown certified organic potatoes for market for about 10 years - I grow fingerlings (see the sliced potatoes picture on Hot Air) which have fiber, flavor, and nutrients galor. They're not just gravy sponges. They even make the grade (eaten in moderation) for the South Beach Adkins, and other low-carb diets.

The USDA program is a dry-run for the healthcare enslavement we all will be experiencing shortly unless we can shrug off the socialists.

Potatoes are one of the best sources of potassium in the human diet. Baked, they are sufficient to make a meal. (I know. I've done it.) They don't need all kinds of flavorings that only add fat, and you can flavor them in many varied ways. They taste great. I don't hold the government bureaucracy in the highest esteem anyway, but they've gone overboard to prove what idiots they really are!!!
