I am tired of the spin. The Tea Party movement is an American phenomenon. Just because Rob Ford promotes frugality, simplicity and fiscal responsibility and shuns the entitlementia and arrogance of the current elitist administration does not make him an American neo-Con. I am really really glad that the arrogant reign of the Birkenstock-wielding, granola-crunching downtown Bolshevik snoots is about to come to an end.
Yes Frank you are wrong! When Smitherman was a provincial politician, he was uncouth, a loudmouth and a bully.
Well, Frank. You're wrong. But, who cares now? Whoever is going to be mayor, already has the votes.
I voted today AGAINST Tea Party wannabe, Robbie Boy. While I am very much against the "entitlement" ethos of politicians from democracies that has grown virtually untrammeled over the past decade, Ford is the last person to carry this crusade out. He is an obnoxious lout, proven to shout down ordinary citizens at hockey games. He has never been able to get more than a tiny handful of Councillors on side for any of his motions. He won't now and lacks any vision to solve the complex problems of this very complicated city populated by peoples of every country on earth.
He would be an international embarassment whenever he spoke.
@Steve I love how you are shooting your mouth off, but I voted for rob Ford! Why would anyone get behind Smitherman - eHealth, c Diificile, Samsung, belittling senior citizens in nursing homes, lobbyist scandal and pharmaceutical companies getting hundreds of millions of dollars in government contracts and then donating large amounts of cash to Smitherman's riding association, eliminating essential services from OHIP coverage while deciding that sex change operations would be covered. The list goes on and on. Smitherman has no place in any political arena ever! He is a mad man hell bent on destroying anything he ever gets control of. Name one single portfolio he has operated that helped the citizens of Ontario. God help Toronto if he gets in!
