I love to paint, we just did the floor in our kitchen and living room. I am also doing the roof on my RV & it's not near as hard as I thought it would be! I am a bit older and yet I am able to do things in my own time.
I wanted to have this home so badly, it got me off my rear and I started doing my home (which will never match up to even showing off) but it's home. I love to improve things and I take very good care of things that are mine or anyone else's.
I used to live on a very small farm with a husband that didn't like sticking around after the kids left but I had a Brahma Bull I raised and had just bought a beautiful colt and we had a few chickens and I did enjoy raising a few Sannen goats (great milk goats). Once I finished my nursing degree, I decided I could not stay there any longer for some very serious reasons and I had to sell all my beautiful animals and I went to Massachusetts to be with my mom and sister. It was very hard to live there, expensive and I came back to TX. and found a great man who is a deacon at our Baptist Church. While I was in TX, I lost my mom, then my sister who was way too young to die. I got very lonely and thank the Lord for my husband now, but we live a city life and I am not so pleased about that, and Maine is so beautiful, it would be quite a gift! Whatever happens, is meant to be so I will wait and hope to keep watching HGTV, which I love to watch.
Maine is so so beautiful, and my mother could only say she wanted to be buried there. So we did do that and I miss her so much. Then after the loss of my mom, about a year later, my sister died and she was only 52-. No one can ever prepare to lose family or loved ones.
It would be so nice to carry on there for her plus I love country and could have some of the animals I used to have but can not have here. I suppose a person can have animals there?
I have never won anything and I wonder how I would act! I can't imagine!
I don't want to sound like a nut case so I best leave it at this. I do hope I have a chance to win this gorgeous dream, though.
I know there are a lot of kind people that enjoy making others happy and you people have always worked so hard and love to see the faces of these winners. It does do a heart good and wish I could even be a part of gifting people like that! So whomever gets it-I will be happy for, but why can't it be ne too? I think I'd invite the whole town to celebrate! Just a big thank you for your giving. Will be watching and waiting to see who gets that beauty.

I draw and paint and love being able to do so since I have retired; working on computer, can be quite frustrating as I have never learned how to 'troubleshoot' this stupid thing . . . HA! Stupid is as Stupid does . . . apparently. I've loved watching the DIY Cabin Blog on the computer; but have ABSOLUTELY no idea how to 'make the site' be anything but totally frustrating. I am not able to read 'pages and pages' of instructions and be able to try to follow them (because of an illness). I don't know if my 'comments' are all for 'naught'; but they seem to be getting posted. However, when it comes to 'voting' the 10 times I am told I can do so; the only way I can do it, is to hit the BLOG CABIN tab again and again; but when it shows me the 'results' . . . it shows things that I haven't had the opportunity to 'vote' on . . . just a brief moment where it says "Vote Again", then about twice the number of choices for me to have voted on. So I don't even know if my votes have counted. But it is a tad bit 'stressful' and that is NOT want I want it to have the effect of doing. I've never 'blogged' before, and do not know what I need in order to do so. Thanks

My father & I actually do all the above, not soo much woodworking, but if had the extra equipment definately-like a planer-everyone could use one of them. I am a recent college graduate, female majored in Construction Building. Soo much fun! Hard work, but very enjoyable & espically get to have fun with the tools!

    I enjoy DIY network shows.
We have recently relocated and purchased a bit of a project house.
Great location, good layout but somewhat dated, with a totally undevoloped basement.
We live in Sherwood Park, Alberta so with the cold weather the projects begin.
We are on a budget so renovation are limited to our skills.
We are handy and can work well together and have got some great ideas and options on your shows. Here in Alberta it a long cold winter and we are hoping to finish the basement and change all the carpets to hard wood. If you show ever film this far north drop by and pick a project. LOL Thanks for the many hours of entertainment and learning you provide.
