Have you ever been involved in a road rage altercation?

There was a time in MA when we drivers could file a report with the Registry of Motor Vehicles when we saw dangerous, unsafe driving. I filed about a dozen. The last I heard, though, if you want to report these road manaces you have to appear at a hearing. I never wanted a hearing. I wanted something on the person's driving record that police could see. It would be the difference between giving a warning versus a ticket, or a ticket versus an all out arrest.

Maybe the MA RMV will reconsider the hearing requirement. Sure, I can see where some people may "report" someone they have a beef against. The person notified of their unsafe driving can certainly challenge it. Short of computer chips in vehicles notifying police when the vehicle is exceeding the posted speed limits or moving in an erratic manner, other drivers may be the best set of extra eyes police have.
