How do you feel about body scans at airports?

Do you who don't like the new scanners realize that regular x-rays now show soft tissue outlines? The copies you take home are not the ones that are on file. If you are so worried about being intruded on, think about all the explicit x-rays on file at doctors' offices and hospitals!

    People should just chill out.

The reality is that we live in a world where there are individuals who want to do us harm. Since we don't know who these people are, it is imperative that everyone boarding a plane be screened. The screening process isn't invasive, excessive, nor painful. I have traveled outside the United States several times before and this sort of screening is common place in other places throughout the world. I, for one, would rather be assured that every person who gets on a plane has been screened to the best of our technological capability so that the rest of us can travel as safely as possible. This is a small price to pay.

I have been patted down less invasively by the Sherriffs department, where there too there are lives at stake. While we are discussing it, a study was released within the last year stating that the X-Rays, MRI's, and CT scans in the Dr.s office not only do not have a standard level of radiation per scan but have been found to have 10+ times safe levels in many instances. So, what are these things set at radiation wise and what is the cancer risk to frequent flyers???????

All of these extra invasive precautions are going over the common sense line. WHO are the actual people that we need to be cautious of??? There must be a better way. The common American is not the problem. But we are too afraid of someone crying prejudice if we identify those who have killed people in the past by their religion or their country. Our privacy has been invaded, but theirs is not. They are protected. There just seems to be an imbalance in treatement when it comes to the common American. Dare we call this treatment of Americans, prejudiced treatment. It seems like we are being mistreated. I wish it were not so.

What people need to remember is that we have had people try to get on an aircraft to cause bodily harm. So to take the time to ensure that this can not happen is a small price to pay for everyones safety.
