Every year my mother want to impress anew with her stellar hostess skills. She decorates the tables, polishes all the silverware, scrubs the house, and cooks almost every single dish, telling everyone that "No, it's no problem!" mostly because she thinks her everything is the best.
Then when she sits down to the table she looks like she just got hit by a truck and quickly excuses herself to go lay down. It's awkward. (But the potatoes are very good.)
