Shopping in (independent local) physical stores keeps money in the community, which pays for essential services to the community like fire and police. I do all my shopping in the community I live in, because I care about its sustainability.

Amazon Prime is a great investment, eliminating shipping on most things. this year I had fun with thetime-limited Black Friday specials on both Amazon and Ideeli. But I would have shopped online anyway. I live outside the U.S. and almost all my gift recipients live inside the U.S., so online purchasing, even if I have to pay some shipping, is definitely the way to go.
I love the convenience of shopping online but do like to get out there among the hustle and bustle of it all and touch and feel the goods as part of the Christmas build up! Bulky, unusual stuff = online, nick nacks and impulse browsing - shops
I hate shopping, so the only way I do it is online. At least I don't have to drive ll over the area looking for an item I want. And I use coupons to get free shipping.
