    Protection that does not protect.
Virus attack while browsing Google Images with FireFox 3.x, as soon as I put mouse over image. Norton recognized attack, but virus unformatted my hard drive. All my valuable work is lost. We purchase these products for protection, and this product failed miserably. Sure, the user interface is slick, it installs painlessly, and runs in the background without even knowing it's there. Great software design, but falls short on its designed purpose. Failure to be compatible with IE9 and FireFox4 adds to the insult, especially since FireFox 3.x is no longer available for download. Now, with a newly formatted hard drive, I have FireFox 4 and Norton's lack of any browsing protection. But, based on reviews I'd read, Norton got my money this year (although past experiences made me hesitant). Seriously considering asking for a refund and buying AVG's product. Doubt I'll coax a refund for licenses for 6 PCs, which is what I bought. A costly lesson thoroughly learned this time.
