Do you have a secret "hospital fantasy"?

I have 2 grown son's still living at home, both unemployed. I'm a housewife. I recently battled and won against cancer. But life gets too much. Money, family and everyone looking to me to sort out their problems. Being in hospital, regardless of pain and discomfort, is like a mini vacation where you are the recipient of everyone's attention. You don't worry about others for a while but yourself. You are the centre of attention and the focus of others. It's nice to be cared for and have a break from being the carer.

I had this happen to me - acute appendicitis the week my daughter started Kindergarten. I was in the hospital for a week and at home for a month. Although I am nervous about wishing for something adverse to happen - it was an amazing break from all the stress.

After some internal deliberation, I decided my "1920s convalescent home for rich consumptives and recovering hysterics" fantasy counted as a "yes." A little grander than a hospital, but I think it counts.
