If so, should the challenge be to "send a message," or to deny Obama the nomination?

The Democratic national party needs to learn that nominating a pleasant wimp to battle a bunch of rabid pit-bulls is a punishable crime. As for Obama, he won't learn anything -- he won't fight, won't blame, won't stick to his principles, and is of no further use to anyone. The party might still be useful, if its leadership grows a backbone of its own. Do they have any idea how much money hopeful people coughed up, whenever they asked, as much as they could manage, to prevent another Republican Presidency and install a champion to help fight the Right Wing crazies? And for that, we got a schoolteacher with a nice line in lectures and no nerve for good, hard brawl, when a brawl is what we needed. We need to remind the Democratic party of what it's supposed to be: FOR the people.
