Two further comments and maybe a bit controversial.!
    1. Bristol. Clean it!! There are so many parts of Bristol that visitors come to that are just plain dirty. I'm not talking about scruffy or 'with rustic charm', but filth and grime. Gloucester road is dirty! The Prince of Wales; dirty. The Old Duke; disgusting. I used to live in Bristol, now live in London (which I'm not defending btw) and travel back to Bristol on a regular basis and can really see it. It doesn't take much to get out the bucket n mop...

    2. The Bristol 'underground scene' can appear aggressive and certainly some of the places which seem keen to attract visitors have a 'crustier than thou' attitude. I'm not proposing that all the Bristol indie venues/pubs/cafes turn themselves into some sort of Disney attraction for tourists, but there it is. Bristol has hung on well to its independent and underground vibe which is to be applauded, but I think that as each year passes and people look for the next thing to shock with, it's evolving into a darker and more aggressive look. It may happen so subtlety that folks don't notice it, but again, from the outside looking in, it is there.

    I welcome the feedback!

As Annette correctly writes, it's "premises".
In my years in Bristol, I've found that the city should also be famous for bad spelling ;-)

Utilising empty premises is great and allows non-profits to do some amazing stuff, but it does nothing to help existing businesses to open new venues and generate cash and jobs for Bristol...Existing for-profit businesses don't get a look-in on zero rent deals on vacant premises or other incentives to take on a commercial lease. They also can't be so casual about indemnity insurance and other costs as the non-profits seem to be.

Here's hoping the new Localism Bill will allow Bristol Council to offer business rates incentives and other support measures to commercially-viable businesses who are taking on a long-empty venue.
