Should celebrities be able to "opt out" of being considered role models?
Yes. Parents need to help their children find appropriate role models. Celebrities should only be appreciated for their art.
No. Once you're a public figure, you automatically become a role model to impressionable youth and have a responsibility to act as a model citizen.
