although melo will gell significantly better in nj, that is not where he wants to be. In addition, they cannot offer denver enough talent to aquire melo without destroying whatever team they have. Melo also wants NY, the bright lights and attention especially given the recent winning atmosphere he will get what he wants. I think the wisest thing for the knicks would be to wait it out untill the offseason, where they have nothing to lose. They currently have a strong team and can have a strong season without melo at least untill the offseason when melo will join.

i rekn melo should go to new jersey, at least there the nets could return to a top-flight team, sure they picked up some players in the off-season, but who? jordan farmar? the guys is good, and all respect to him, but the nets really wanted a big player, like amar'e or lebron, that didnt happen, so now carmelo would settle in perfectly.

If Melo isn't required to sign an extension, a team like Chicago would be a good candidate. It would be a place for him to play the remainder of the season. Chicago is definitely a playoff team and they could have Melo take em through the playoffs. Whose to say that wouldn't make Melo happy?

    Also:

Does anyone NOT see the irony of Melo wanting to be traded to New York? Since his Knicks Massacre Fight Night on Dec. 16th 2006? I guess the guy he decked plays somewhere else...but still

As a Knick fan I dont even want to give up our pieces for him. We know we can get him this summer so y break up the chemistry we have right now? No rush. The Nuggets trading him to us would only be a favor. They'd have to take Eddie Curry's expiring contract. Their best bet is to do well this season and hope he re-signs with them, which he has said he is not against at this point.

nuggets shude keep him melo dont be lebron your a star here we love u dont go 2 new york amare is the star there just stay

Exactly he wont sign unless its new york and no team will trade players when they no that melo could still sign with the knicks after the season is over hence the nuggets needs melo to sign. Melo is in control of his destiny my friend. Nuggets fans its a no win situation its time to move on.

I dont know what you dont get. HE WONT SIGN ANYWHERE BESIDES NEWYORK! so your bulls idea has no possibility of happening.

I say send him to the Bulls. They have the Charlotte first round draft pick for any year they want and their own to offer with Luol Deng, Taj Gibson, and other players to sweeten the deal like Omer Asik, Kurt Thomas, James Johnson, Brian Scalibrine, and Keith Bogans. I say give them Taj, Kurt, and Keith Bogans, and a first round pick. It clears up the space and gives the Nuggets a great young upcoming player in trade for Carmelo. I mean the Nuggets do want a young team and who better than Taj Gibson. The guy has the potential to be an all star in a couple years. Plus, they lack defense and Bogans can really bring that to Denver. And the Bulls wont need their draft picks with how they are playing. They will get a late pick so give it up and if you need to, throw in the Charlotte pick. It's Carmelo. Don't risk it on a guy who might do good when you can get a guy who has proven he is great. Then the Bulls can start Korver like they need. I mean, he would be a better started than Bogans anyway. That way, the Bulls have a starting line up that can completely space the floor and the Nuggets will have young talent with a couple veterans that will fill up what they lack, and future young draft picks. Plus, Carmelo said his second choice is Chicago. Chicago has a lot to offer and New York really has nothing. The Nuggets better move fast before the Bulls don't want to change what they have. I mean, they are looking perfectly fine with what they have right now. But, it is in best interest for the Nuggets to trade with Chicago.

I say trade him to the bulls for maybe taj gibson and or deng nd a first round pick if theyre willing then chauncey would be able to run a team of good guys like he did with the pistons nd the nuggets could possibly be better without him
