Phil Davison. Minerva Councilman Phil Davison makes national headlines and becomes an Internet sensation after his fiery speech to Stark County Republican Party leadership.
Economy. Stark County residents continued to look for jobs or head back to school in 2010 as unemployment benefits for many came to an end.
Mammone sentenced. James Mammone III was sentenced to death after a jury found him guilty of murdering his two children and his mother-in-law.
Twins, sort of. Dennis and Jennifer Renz made national headlines after their premature twins were born — one week apart.
HOF Expansion. The ProFootball Hall of Fame proposes a $23.6 million expansion and renovation project that would unify the museum and enhance visitors’ experience.
LeBron James. Basketball star LeBron James makes "The Decision" to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Mercy v. Aultman. Jury awards Mercy Medical Center $6.1 million after determining the Aultman foundation and its subsidiaries engaged in a pattern of corrupt activity with insurance brokers.
Vince Frustaci. Former Chief Deputy Treasurer Vincent Frustaci admits to stealing $2.46 million from Stark County coffers.
Arsons. Series of suspicious fires, suspected to be arson, ravage vacant homes in Canton; businesses burned in Strasburg.
Quadruple fatal crash. Two young children were among the dead after a fatal car crash occurred on the stretch of State Route 800 south of Faircrest Street SE in Canton Township.
Religious institutions close and merge. Due to declining membership and rising operational costs numerous religious organizations, such as the Jewish Community Federation, announce closures/mergers.
Bow building closes. After nearly eight decades, the downtown Frank T. Bow Federal Building closes.
Snowfall. Snowfall of 37.2 inches set a record in February, making the month the snowiest since the National Weather Service has been keeping track — the late 1800s.
