Unless a reader is doing something illegal or immoral while reading on a Kindle, what's to worry about - why worry? People get more paranoid each day. We have safely bypassed 1984 a while back and survived in good shape without being taken over by Fahrenheit 451. If you fear technology, get rid of your Kindle! (You can send it to me. It` all part of making the service better for the customer. I do wish there was a way to opt out of certain info being collected though. All the collected info should be transparently disclosed to the consumer.

if it helps them continue the good service....what is the beef? i dont put personal documents on my kindle.
