For me it was between Japandroids, SSLYBY, Drums and Jukebox. I gotta go with Jukebox though, Empire is just so well put together.

@William Marsh, "Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons in all fairness was actually released in 2009. I'm surprised that I don't see The National too come to think about it... Or Xiu Xiu.

Not much I see on this list I like too much. I thought the Band of Horses album was the biggest disappointment this year for me. There are some that come in mind like Neon Indian, Dark Dark Dark, Belle and Sebastian. Don't see Loon Choir for voting, which took the #1 spot for me this year.
Voted Belle and Sebastian. Pretty solid indie pop album.

What- nothing from "The National" like Bloodbuzz Ohio or Anyone's Ghost? What about Mumford & Sons? I know you can't list them all but . . . what was the criteria? Maybe the same thought process that had Kayne West as the whatever of the year you made him? Anyway thanks for all the work you do during the year - best site on the net!
